1st class mail from Tucson to Tucson goes 100 + miles to Phoenix to be sorted and then back to Tucson. No wonder they are losing millions.

Funny you should post this...we were supposed to have received an item ordered through amazon and carried by the usps yesterday that not only had tire tracks on both sides of the envelope...the envelope was torn open and the item we ordered was missing.
The usps delivered an obviously empty shipping envelope.
HOW STUPID IS THAT?

I can’t remember ever having something I mailed not get to its destination, or something I expected to receive not being delivered. That includes USPS and the private carriers.

I ordered a ceramic chicken and a painted egg at the same time from Amazon.
I’ll let you guess!

You do know that a chicken is an egg’s way of making another egg, right?

That has always been the case for mail being sent across town. It’s never sorted locally, but rather at the regional plant. It’s actually more efficient that way; the local offices are not equipped with the machines or manpower to sort out local mail from all they receive.

Just had one tale two weeks to get from OH to MO. Could have driven there in 7 hours.
We also have a USPS center here in Earth City MO that is evidently a black hole. If something ends up there, it’s never to be seen again.

Package comes to co sprgs and is sent to Denver. Then turns around and sent back to co sprgs for delivery. Round trip about 200 miles. AN! a turn around of 2 to 4 days more before delivery. Reason cut back cost of sorting the packages, employees, and facilities in co sprgs.. But adds the expense of shipping a package on us.

I bought a roll of “forever” stamps about five years ago. At the rate I am using them they should last me the rest of my life.

UPS and Fed-ex also don’t care where they leave the packages anymore. They leave them at the wrong address all the time. I have often gotten other peoples packages, and have to deliver them to the proper person. And vise versa. Calling UPS or Fed ex to report the error is a pointless exercise. They simply don’t care.

We live at the end of a private road shared with three other houses. GPS sends deliveries to our next door neighbor 100 yards away. I have the front, rear and side of our property marked with the address and a directional sign on the road along with a map showing the location and house numbers nailed to a tree at the entrance off the public road and they still deliver packages next door.
