Being frustrated with Opel CIH engines I am converting my 1970 GT to an electric motor setup when the weather turns. (You cant get me in the garage when it is cold out). Which raises the question, why not pick up an old F150, but it and put in 10k worth of motor and batteries? The world is full of rust free truck carcasses that just need a powertrain. And since you are using a 0 dollar value VIN # you will save 10,000 at least in a few years just on not paying sales tax and annual property taxes.

The problem is, IMO, a lot of the charm and good looks of the old cars came from the heavier steels and other metals used.

You can try but ya just can't replicate that with today's materials. Everytime I see one of these retro cars, I say, "looks OK but it looks like it's going to look like crap in 3 years".

Which, as we know, is the exact opposite of the old cars.

I wouldn’t think that would be much of a hit. People who want to buy a “green” truck probably want it to look new and high-tech, not like their media declared racist grandfather’s truck.

Of course, I didn’t think cell phones would have much of a market beyond a relatively few bigwigs.
