So much spin and blame-gaming going on here, it’s embarrassing.

Baldwin is hated and the union walked out. Wonder if he was hated enough to be set-up and, being stupid, he fell into it.

and she instructed her department to watch the cart containing the guns when she was pulled away for her other duties or on a lunch break. It was my understanding that this on this low-budget set, she was the entire department.
Her other duties were that of assistant propmaster. So was she responsible for the safe storage and preparation of firearms, and making sure the right lamp was on a table?

Let's see what prints they find on the Cartridges.
Columbo would be on hold...and he wouldn't tell anyone what he did find. Not yet anyways...He does things piece by piece...which equates to..."One more thing".
By now, I expect every single bullet found on the set and the cart that held the guns have been gone over with a fine tooth comb for prints, DNA etc etc.
I believe this is solvable....and I also believe that the gun was positioned to fire the deadly bullet which makes me question...."Why didn't Baldwin examine the gun."
We don't knwo the number of times that Baldwin has handled THAT gun during this filming....practice or whatever. Since he co-wrote the movie, he might have even had a hand in choosing what he wanted to use. He is not gun ignorant. His father was a Marine and taught riflery.

Baldwin is one of the producers
All of this is mute had Alec obeyed the first rule of gun safety
We weren’t allowed to play with squirt guns because it violated that rule. It’s why we used water balloons

Ah....She said she showed Halls the chambers by spinning the cylinder. And yet the one live bullet wound up in the chamber that would fire the deadly shot.
Halls said he couldn't remember if she spun the cylinder....and said he only saw 3 or 4 cartridges and never checked them all and that he should have. His statements make no sense.

Any firearm is to be stored UNLOADED. You only load it at the time you intend to use it. And you would verify its condition directly before you handed it to the actor. Enough with the stupid press releases.

"Hannah did everything in her power to ensure a safe set." -- The facts say otherwise. "She inspected the rounds that she loaded into the firearms that day. She always inspected the rounds.” -- Did she inspect them and then leave them unattended, not under lock & key? Or was there a chain of custody in effect after loading the firearms? "[she spun] the cylinder and showing him (assistant director David Halls) all of the rounds and then handing him the firearm.” -- Which ends of the rounds did she show Halls -- the primer end or the bullet end?
Dummy rounds, unless they have spent primers or rubber primers or are painted black, are hard to distinguish from real rounds. Blank rounds have crimped casings visible from the business end of the cylinder. Did she just show him the primer end of each round with the loading gate open? Did she show him the crimped bullet end of each cartridge loaded in the cylinder? Did she show him both ends of the rounds? The sentence describing what she did is too vague to mean anything.

A woman is dead, another injured, and EVERYONE responsible for it is trying to blame someone else. Honesty and integrity are apparently a thing of the past. They ALL owe it to her family to own up to their mistakes, and apologize profusely for being so irresponsible.
