The armorer on the set of "Rust" offered a chilling theory through her attorneys about what led to the accidental shooting death of Halyna Hutchins.
Armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed was one of four people who handled the weapon prior to Alec Baldwin firing it while rehearsing a scene for the indie-western. As a result, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said that the investigation is largely focused on her as well as how a live round made its way to the set of the film at all.
Speaking on the "Today" show Wednesday Jason Bowles and Robert Gorence claim that the bullets their client loaded into the gun on the day of the shooting were taken from a box that was only supposed to contain dummy rounds that were incapable of firing. However, because the ammunition was left unattended from roughly 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, they believe the opportunity was there for a disgruntled crew member to mix a live round into the box.
"We don’t know, however, whether that live round came from that box," Bowlees said. "We’re assuming it did. We’re assuming somebody put that live round in that box, which, if you think about that, the person who put the live round in the box of dummy rounds had to have the purpose of sabotaging the set. There’s no other reason you would do that. That you would mix that live round with the dummy rounds."

“to take out a reporter”
Who took out whom?
Common dummy rounds with hole in side and colored tips:
“Baldwin and the assistant director are guilty of at least manslaughter.. The armorers is guilty of criminal negligence.”
AD versus armorer. We don’t have the whole story. Lawyers are creating ‘fog of war’ scenario to avoid convictions.
Er, a live round looks completely different than a blank. I don’t buy it. The ambulance chasers are just throwing stuff out there. Even someone who knows absolutely nothing about guns and ammo would look in the ammo box and say, “Hey that looks out of place.”
Doesn’t matter, it was still her job to,check before handing alac the gun,, and she and the other fella failed. The only way she and the other fella aren’t also guilty of negligence would be if Alac set the gun aside briefly, and someone slipped a live round into it knowing that he was practicing by pointing the gun at others, which itself is a violation of the rules. But this is not how,it happened
The fella claimed that THEY loaded the gun themselves... obviously without checking EACH round as they did so. Just because a box is supposed to have all dummy rounds does not mean they have no obligation to check each round as they load them.
“Dummy rounds are not the same as blanks.”
Your point?
“Er, a live round looks completely different than a blank. I don’t buy it. “
Er, blanks were not used in scene.
I thought they were doing target practice in the afternoon.
I heard that, then I heard they weren't. Not sure.
That does not excuse the negligence at several levels in failing to clear the gun and make sure it wasn’t loaded with real live ammo.
Nor Baldwin’s inexcusable behavior in pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger.
Oh please. Just as far left people make everything about sex so did the far right. This is the stupidest thing I ever read.
This is a Columbo job. This is about time and place. It’s solvable.
Someone said they used the guns for target practice in the lunch time (from 11:00 to 1:00). Another report said the guns were locked up at that period. Both statements cannot be correct.
she WAS in charge of the guns... right?
How do they know for sure that only four people handled the weapon before handing it to Baldwin. Because four admitted so, finger prints, sign out from locker? Could there be more than four?
Wait. It makes total sense that the Deep State would use unhinged blabbermouth Alec Baldwin as a hit man. Lol.
She is not the only person to handle or be in change of that gun....obviously. And the Prop director was over her.
Chinese. He was making pedo joe look bad.
