Officer Tatum: "Alec Baldwin WAS NEGLIGENT and should be CHARGED"

Normally I will not focus on little fish like Baldwin, but this time it's important. Baldwin represents everything unAmerican. Baldwin has openly called for his political enemies be locked up without trial. Not just locked up, but tossed into dungeons (paraphrasing) for especially harsh treatment. Without trial.

Let's face it, a lot of US Citizens are just not American. Baldwin wants our Constitution ripped apart and burned. Wildly anti-gun and characterizes us as stupid, criminal, reckless, for demanding we stick to the Constitution -- the same one will stick to attempt to see he receives a fair trial for the crime of killing a woman and shooting another.

Let's be clear: based on what I have seen so far, we don't even KNOW that it was 'accidental.' The media on whole knows so little about firearms that nearly all of them are calling it an 'accidental' 'misfire.'

This was NOT a misfire. A misfire goes "click" and nothing happens. Like the gun version of a dud. If this were a misfire, nobody would have heard about it.

Six years on the murder and three on the shooting felony. He might see his daughter by her high school graduation and new daddy if he lives that long. Via Con Alex.

The first rule of Firearm Safety might be “Treat every gun as if it were loaded” but the first rule of Firearm Handling is “Never pick up a gun without confirming whether it is loaded.”

So that’s strike two.

Also that woke 24-year-old female should be arrested. For reckless homicide. If she let people play with the prop guns after work and go shooting and kept live ammo on the set. She was criminally reckless.

I will wait for the facts, but it is the same thing when Owen Hart fell to his death. Vince McMahon was the CEO of the WWE and had to pay Owen’s widow even though the rigging company was responsible.

He accidentally loaded it with live rounds, accidentally aimed it at somebody and accidentally pulled the trigger.

What Officer Tatum said was interesting:

If some workers were complaining about the working conditions and a lack of gun safety...

Maybe one of them put in a live round to make a point?

Nope. Armorers repair guns. Just like auto mechanics tune cars.

Shooters load mags, insert mags into mag wells, racks the slide, gets asight picture of the target and what’s behind it, and presses the trigger.

He pointed the gun at someone and pulled the trigger. His fault. It wasn’t even a movie scene, he’s a producer. He’s also incompetent in apparently hiring somebody may be for their hooker looks instead of abilities as an armoror. Quilty, execute him.

Has anyone here previously read of the incident being labeled a “misfire?” I haven’t.

Yes, I saw where it was labeled as a "misfire". Written by a leftist idiot who knows nothing about firearms and couldn't tell the difference between a hangfire and a hangnail, let alone a misfire.

I thought it was two accidental discharges. Bullets were flying.

A bunch of the media have, including in an article posted here on FR that I read. They are saying it on TV. The talking heads have no idea what they are talking about.

Why did he point a gun at someone and pull the trigger? Even if he thought they were blanks.

Most likely Baldwin was being a cheapskate producer and did not want to pay for a more safe environment on set.

“And I doubt any movie insurance company will ever deal with Baldwin as a producer again. “
“For almost every tragedy there is usually a silver lining.”

I’m not so sure. I could see some movie company picking up the filming of this movie, completing it, and making a bundle off its notoriety. Hollywood is amoral, and so is a certain segment of the populace that would get off on going to the movie out of morbid curiosity. Just sayin.....

It would sell overseas. Hollyweird makes a ton of money in the overseas market so much so that it can weather bad choices destined for the US market.

I disagree. Baldwin had a real gun, and he aimed at a human being. The "I didn't know the gun was loaded" excuse doesn't fly. If you don't know what you are doing, when it comes to firearms, you shouldn't be doing it. Look, he shot his "prop" gun just hours after a mishap with live ammo on his very movie set. Extra caution should have been exercised. Would you point a gun at a living human being just after that had happened? I wouldn't.

I was a construction contractor in a previous life. I was fortunate that no serious accidents happened on any of my sites, but I knew of contractors who did have fatal accidents occur. If someone was killed, OSHA would be all over the site and the contractor would most likely have faced serious fines and penalties. If it had been determined that a serious breach of safety procedures had occurred a few hours earlier, and no steps had been taken to fix the problem - well, you had better lawyer up, because you just might be going to jail. Baldwin was the boss. He should have said "Not one frame of film will be shot until we fix this gun problem." He was in control of the gun, the production, the safety protocols, the hiring and firing of experts - He is 100% at fault.

At a minimum, someone should be charged with criminally negligent homicide (a.k.a., involuntary manslaughter). Someone has to get prison time for that cinematographer’s death.
