The prop gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on a New Mexico movie set had been used by crew members offsite for fun, a new report claims.
The gun, which was fired by Alec Baldwin on the set of the movie “Rust,” may have even been loaded with live rounds when it was used for what was essentially target practice, TMZ reported.
Multiple sources connected to the production of the film told TMZ that the gun was fired at off-the-clock gatherings – which could explain how a live round found its way into the gun’s chamber.
Another source who was on set told the outlet that when cops arrived they found live ammo and blank rounds stored in the same area, where the fatal mix-up could have occurred.

And he is partially responsible for all procedures on the set, and enforcing them, as a member of ‘management’, safety or otherwise.
With as many movies Mr. Baldwin has made portraying a cop or bad guy with guns, it defies credulity that he doesn’t know gun safety protocol, especially pointing a loaded gun at someone.

I don’t feel the least bit of sympathy for this A-hole. He like everyone else that handles a firearm had every opportunity and obligation to check the status of the firearm himself. In fact from what I have read it is protocol on movie sets that the armorer and actor each check the status.

I would hardly express evil intent. More than likely just a bunch of dumbasses with no common or firearm sense got people killed and injured. They probably were so happy to be away from the tyrannical firearm restrictions in California they went out to play without any supervision or training and now we see the result. No movie firearm should be allowed out of the armorers control for recreational fun.
The democrats will be holding committee hearings before Turkey Day to ban guns in movies and then everywhere

Probably a lot of dope on the set. His crying while being interviewed by police help mask his being loaded. After all, he is an actor.
