Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas on Sunday expressed support for US Border Patrol agents who are disciplined by the Biden administration, pledging to hire them if they fear that their jobs are in jeopardy.
During an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," host Chris Wallace asked Abbott to respond to the videos and images that showed agents on horseback charging at Haitian migrants near the Texas border, which elicited a torrent of outrage from many across the country, including President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and many members of Congress.
Abbott immediately laid blame on the president, criticizing his administration for what he said was a lack of enforcement of existing immigration laws.
"They wouldn't have been in that situation had the Biden administration enforced the immigration law and secured the border in the first place," the governor said.
He added: "If he takes any action against them whatsoever - I have worked side by side with those Border Patrol agents - I want them to know something. If they are at risk of losing their job by a president who is abandoning his duty to secure the border, you have a job in the state of Texas. I will hire you to help Texas secure our border."

I was hoping people would have started laughing and said only city folk wouldn’t recognized the skill those agents exhibited. The reins aren’t whips, a bunch of DC office people trying to make a scandal out of horsemanship is making half the country laugh.
Yes, Abbott's a good man. This is true.
That said, he's been sadly behind the curve and perhaps less than completely brave and fearless in defending our southern border within his great state of Texas.
Regardless whether we’ll crying or laughing because there are thousands and thousands of Haitians tracking down to the USA border!! They got the message.....COME ON DOWN THE BORDER IS WIDE OPEN!!!!. FREEBIES!!! Abbott has dropped the ball so bad that I have a feeling it’s gonna have to be up to us to guard the border and it’s not gonna be pretty!
Have they created a CGI horse yet, or is Hollywood stuck using real horses for their movies?
I think this is coming to the final lap of Texas. If nothing is done, not only is Texas gone, but the Republic (USA) as a whole.
Also, it is a bad habit/form to tie the 2 reigns together (could get caught on something).

Had a rabbit hunt last weekend, we invite all law enforcement in the county to bring their kid’s out and we drive them around to shoot a few Jack Rabbits. While most of them were out hunting several of us hung back and cooked for the rest. Had an interesting discussion about the Texas Border and how Texas could create our own Border Patrol.
Unlike New Mexico, Arizona and California, the Federal Government doesn’t own a 60 foot easement at the border. Our state and private land goes to the river. With the exception of a few Port of Entry’s the Fed’s have no claim to any property and some of what they operate they lease from local cities. If Texas would honor their time spent in the BP I suspect most would transfer over in a heartbeat.
Now, now. Be fair. If memory serves the reigns on the little mechanical horse I rode when I was three were tied to make a nice little loop. :)
