A new COVID variant that infected vaccinated residents and staff at a Kentucky nursing home has been detected in 47 U.S. states, according to data.
The R.1 variant spread through 45 residents and staff at the nursing home after an unvaccinated staff member triggered the infections in March, the Kentucky Department of Public Health revealed.
Due to its mutation, the variant, first detected in Japan, was able to bypass the antibody protection present in the fully vaccinated.
According to Outbreak.info, a website that collects data on COVID variants, as of September 21, R.1 has now infected more than 10,567 people around the world and has been detected in 47 states.
Maryland was found to have the highest number of cases, with 399 cases being detected since it was first found in the country.
In total, 2,259 Americans have been found with the R.1 strain which was first detected in the country on March 15, 2020. The latest case to be detected in the U.S. was on August 6 and was found in 0.5 percent of cases.
Outbreak.info also reported the strain has been found in at least 31 countries worldwide, including China, India and many nations in western Europe.
Despite the low number of infections, former Harvard Medical School professor William A. Haseltine said the new mutations found in the R.1 variant could help it spread more easily.
Writing in Forbes, Haseltine said the five variations found in R.1 can lead to "increased resistance to antibodies."

Covid19 is the Gateway Virus, and its “vaccines” soften up the prey for numerous subsequent viruses.
And YES! It was designed to work this way.
Mass vaccination into the teeth of a pandemic is exactly what you are NOT supposed to do. But we seem bound and determined to do the exact opposite of what we learned long ago.
Nothing that we did stopped anything in its tracks, as a matter of fact, we helped the virus.
Had we done nothing more than protect the elderly, covid would be in our rear view mirror. Lockdowns, distancing, ect only served to prolong the virus. Prolong it long enough where we could help it mutate so it could live on.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Maybe it is not “idiocy”. Maybe it is the government’s intentional goal to perpetuate a continual stream of Covid variants. It is not a bug, it is a feature.
So an “unvaxxed” person brought this variant here, and the variant bypasses antibodies.
OK, so what do vaxxed people have to worry about - IF THE VAX ACTUALLY WORKS?
The entire premise of this article is utter HORSESCHIT. There’s not only no logic, it is full of anti-logic.
I have posited for some time the CCP has vials all lined up in Wuhan. They are labeled “Covid-A,” Covid-B,” “Covid-C,” etc.
For awhile my tag line was, “CAUTION: A new variant will be released every time people stop being afraid.” Still true.
you have to get a little deeper to get at this part:
” This means it could make the variant better at evading those antibodies that are created by having the vaccine and in those who have already been infected. “
so it could escape all immunity, but they’re not sure. I always find it weird that pop, here’s a case of x, and two weeks later it’s in 6 states. Unless the person is traveling everywhere, how does that work even?

I couldn’t disagree more.
Of course it was. /sarcasm
I’m not reading 149 comments, so I’m sure I’m playing 2nd fiddle.
But notice that they cite the 49 residents of the facility and fail altogether to discuss the effects upon them of this ‘new variant’ other than alleged ‘bypassing their antibody defense’.
It’s a rather convenient omission. ‘Dangerous R1’ with no basis in observations, effect or reporting.
This is a pathetic piece of propaganda with no basis in either medicine or science, let alone journalism.
At some point, sooner than later, things are going to get ugly. F-15 drivers needed.
LMAO!!!!!
🤣😆😂🤪
Agreed on this one.
Granted that since it takes sequencing to determine variants, and the article seems to be citing actual confirmations, not estimates based off confirmations, likely more cases of R.1 are around. The levels of R.1 out there have still been trivial for a good while now, though. Delta is one really infectious puppy...
Yeah, not that “dangerous”...vaxxes still 86% effective against it last April:

I hope you get better.
I’ve upped by zinc to four pills a day.
Thank you, doing fine now.
I also like the term Border crasher.
