PULLMAN, Wash. -- The United Airlines plane transporting the USC football team to Pullman ahead of their matchup against WSU was seen tipped on its back wheels while parked on the runway.
It was reported that almost half the team was still on board the plane when this happened.
United Airlines sent a statement regarding the incident to KHQ:
"United flight 2509 flying from Los Angeles, California to Lewiston, Idaho landed without incident. Due to a shift in weight and balance during the offloading process, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward. No injuries were reported among our customers, crew or ground personnel. The return flight will depart on a different aircraft as originally planned."
Good catch. 8<0
I read the players had already disembarked but I would have loved to read that some 370+ lineman tipped it over when he leaned back in his seat.
Never had that experience but my wife and I were on a flight out of O’Hare years ago, a stop over on our way to see family in Alberta.
The plane took off and made a slow, banking turn to the left and for a few seconds seem to just hang in the air.
My wife and I just looked at each other in concern(to say the least) but the plane reached altitude and leveled off.
Scary for a few seconds though.
Very interesting! Millions of incredible stories come out of the fog of war.
Exsctly, and too funny.
Whoever was in charge of loading the jet failed big time.
“...while parked on the runway.”
That is not a runway.
Yep, like the military cargo plane crash a few years back where the load shifted during takeoff, a tank or something, and the plane went down...............
