PULLMAN, Wash. -- The United Airlines plane transporting the USC football team to Pullman ahead of their matchup against WSU was seen tipped on its back wheels while parked on the runway.
It was reported that almost half the team was still on board the plane when this happened.
United Airlines sent a statement regarding the incident to KHQ:
"United flight 2509 flying from Los Angeles, California to Lewiston, Idaho landed without incident. Due to a shift in weight and balance during the offloading process, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward. No injuries were reported among our customers, crew or ground personnel. The return flight will depart on a different aircraft as originally planned."
DELTA stands for.
Don’t
Ever
Leave
The
Airport
I will walk or swim before I e er fly Delta again. It has been 15 or 16 years since most horrific flight can ever imagine that did not crash.
LOL
Loudspeaker message: "Before we take off, we had a mixup and now a double supply of fresh donuts is available in the rear of the plane so help yourselves during the wait."
Christie was first on the scene. Passengers he stepped over refused medical treatment.
Clever. USC won the game 45-14.
Glad they took a different plane. A friend was on a bush plane in Alaska and this happened as they loaded up lots of heavy equipment. They redistributed the weight and took off.
Except something had gotten jammed (flaps I guess?) and the plane just kept going up and they almost stalled. I forget how the pilot got out of it but he did and they survived.
They’re suppose to know the weight!!! SHEESH!
Bet it was on purpose. The entire crew packed themselves in the back. Ha Ha. That team will never fly again.
OMG!
“Me thinks the load master screwed up’
I have never seen a load planner supervise the deplaning of passengers.
Someone screwed up fer sure
After that it needed to be yanked for inspection pulling it out of service $$$
Looks like they found themselves a QB in the process.
THAT was a ride I won't forget.
Catastrophic weight and balance problem there. An aft CG out of the envelope is a kiler.
Was Stacey Abrams also on this plane?
Pullman is a pretty small town, do they even have an airport?
Most likely a charter flight.
The plane is just woke and showing how fabulous it is.
You’re probably right about that; but it could have been a commuter flight fed through Denver or somewhere.
In 1979 I was jumpmaster on a C130 at Fort Bragg. About 15 minutes out from Sicily Drop Zone, we got an electrical fire up front where the radios and amplifiers are located under the flight deck. The only jump commands were stand up, hook up, and go. I bet we unloaded 64 paratroopers in less than 15 seconds. Plane landed safely back at Pope AFB, but we spent about 12 hours tracking down jumpers from Southern Pines northward. That will pucker up your asshole.
