Amen. I’ve owned several ‘dangerous’ breeds, and have yet to be mauled (unless you consider being hot boxed by a gassy rottweiler a mauling. I swear, with her, the Tokyo Sarin gas attack was NOTHING.)
But, what do I, or the K9 trainer who trained all of my supposedly killer dogs, know? It’s just easier to believe the leftist media who hates these dogs. They’re the AR15s of the dog world.
I did, however, nearly lose an eye when I was little to a Yorkie and no one believes me when I find those things to be nastier.
The ER doc who helped fix up my one and only rottweiler related ER visit (a torn ACL because my Nimitz sized girl decided to sideswipe me in slow motion and bend my knee in a way that knees don’t bend and partially tore my ACL) pretty much confirmed that he sees more life changing damage from adorable little purse-sized dogs than he’s ever seen from the big ones.
But... minds won’t be changed.
I was once mobbed by a pack of four Rottweilers. It was terrible...
...they almost licked my face off.
I know... the worst, and I mean the WORST, they can do is engage in a form of chemical warfare, especially in cars with the windows up. Those dogs... oy!
But the licking, and the love-bombing. Devilish.

We had a Rottweiler/Pitbull mix from a rescue.
Sweetest dog we ever had.
Was described as a Couch Potato in the rescue description.
Easiest dog ever.
He was old when we got him, had him 5 wonderful years.

PS....also have a Chocolate Lab/Pitbull mix now.
Sweet dog, had since he was 6 months old. He is almost 5 now.
Had many Dobermans previously.
I’m liking the Chill nature of our Chocolate Lab/Pitbull.
