I used to work Unemployment. Unemployment Insurance is money (a tax) paid by the Employer. It works like car insurance. When an employee makes a claim and is awarded benefits, the employers unemployment insurance tax goes. Employees never pay into the Unemployment Insurance fund.

So no, it is not YOUR money.

if it was a condition of hire/employment that’s one thing

but to say you need it to keep your job, they broke the contract and the state is the one screwing you by with holding the money not the employer

the employer can fire you, but it’s the state robbing you, just another form of state coercion

I figured that was coming. It’s a catch 22. If you quit you don’t get unemployment and if they fire you for (cause) like refusing a company mandate you’re out too. What’s worse you will loose insurance and other company benefits for something that should be illegal if we had ANY decent justice system.
