MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Healthy and in their 30s, Christina and Josh Tidmore figured they were low-risk for COVID-19. With conflicting viewpoints about whether to get vaccinated against the virus filling their social media feeds and social circles, they decided to wait.
On July 20, Josh came home from work with a slight cough initially thought to be sinus trouble. On Aug. 11, he died of COVID-19 at a north Alabama hospital as Christina Tidmore witnessed a doctor and her team frantically try to resuscitate her husband.
“She would say, ’I need a pulse. ’I would hear, ‘no pulse,’ “Christina Tidmore said through tears. “They were trying so hard.”
“Nobody should go through this. He was only 36 and I’m 35 and we have three kids.”
She is now imploring young adults not to dismiss the risk and to consider getting vaccinated.
“Josh was completely healthy, active, not a smoker.” He would have turned 37 on Saturday.

How do we know that? We don’t have a standard test for covid. Rember CDC admitted that the test they are using can’t differentiate between covid and the flu and are discontinuing use, AND they have to run multiple runs to even get a positive result, which may or may not be covid.

Yes, you will be taking full advantage of a less virus-filled world because of the ever-growing number of people who have gotten the vaccine.
Now many are also against rules for restaurants and gyms that attempt to keep them as virus-free as possible. They want to be able to eat or work out in a relatively virus-free space. That’s the part that seems to me to go over the line into unfair.

Wrong again. they never said the covid test can’t differentiate between covid and the flu. What they did was recommend the covid test be put in a panel with the flu test so everything can be tested for at once. It is not u heard if to have covid and flu at the same time much as kids are getting covid and RSV at the same time. In addition covid and influenza are clinically distinct illnesses which anyone who has spent time at the bedside would tell you

I’m glad you asked this. Most people misrepresent what the actual statement was. Covid is now being run as a bundle of tests with a single probe. It is a respiratory infection panel of which there is included influenza parainfluenzas, Corona virus and I believe RSV.
It is part of a package does not mean it cannot be differentiated. It is a way to better diagnose what the cause of what is in front of us actually is.
That is totally and outrageously untrue.
Today it was reported that .001 percent of vaccinated Americans have died from covid 19. If I had the other statistics handy, I would quote those too.
The dude was probably vaxed or had other health issues. I, my wife and 5 kids had it, nothing deadly in any way. Mild influenza, but the fear porn for vaccines is alive and well. The vaxed seem to be having issues with the original virus or the variants, I’ll watch.

No secret the vax debates for the last 6 months have been very combative with entrenched arguments. The distrust is understandable and to be expected.
