Governor orders new mask, vaccine mandates (Dem Gov. "Lockdown Lujan" Grisham dictates all health care workers be vaccinated)

SANTA FE – As cases swell and hospital beds fill up, New Mexico will reimpose a mask mandate for public indoor spaces and require hospital workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or face the possibility of losing their jobs.

Public, private and charter school employees also will face new requirements under public health orders issued Tuesday.

Teachers and other school employees will have the option of either getting vaccinated or undergoing weekly coronavirus testing, matching a requirement already in place for state workers. And everyone will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.

Meanwhile, the mask mandate will apply to all individuals ages 2 or older in all indoor public settings without regard to vaccination status, with eating and drinking the only allowable exception. That mandate takes effect Friday and will continue through Sept. 15, although it could be extended.

The new order applies to office workers and any other indoor settings in which people from different households mix ...

New Mexico has one of the nation’s highest COVID-19 vaccination administration rates, with 74.9% of residents who are 18 or older having gotten at least one vaccine dose and about 65.9% who have completed the series, as of Tuesday, according to state Department of Health data.

Effective immediately, the new public health order regarding vaccines will require vaccination for people working in “high-risk” settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, hospice facilities and state prisons. It will apply to doctors, nurses, pharmacists and others.

Medical and religious exemptions will be granted. Workers who aren’t already vaccinated will have to get their first dose within 10 days.

However, Sen. Gregg Schmedes, R-Tijeras, said the vaccine mandate for health care workers could exacerbate a nursing shortage and prompt some employees to leave the field – and possibly the state.

The ABQ Journal is lengthy so here are some other hightlights:
Attendees at the NM State Fair in ABQ must be vaccinated if they are eligible to receive it and must provide proof.
By bringing back the mask mandate, New Mexico joins Louisiana, Oregon and Hawaii who have similar orders in place. Nevada requires has exemptions for large events but requires proof of vaccination for entry.
State Senator Gregg Schmedes is also a nose and throat physician and says many health care workers will quit or leave New Mexico rather than submit to the vaccination requirement. Personally I know of a small group practice here in the oil patch where the unvaccinated principals believe in immune system strengthening and treat covid patients with therapeutics such as HCQ, Ivermectin and others. They may have to relocate to Texas or have a fear of losing their professional licenses if they continue to operate without vaccination.

Notice the vaccination requirement includes "hospitals, nursing homes, hospice facilities and state prisons. It will apply to doctors, nurses, pharmacists and others." I imagine that a lot of these facilities will lose workers rather than get vaccinated.

Interesting line she has crossed here. Up until now the powers that be have pressured companies to demand that the workers get vaccinated. Now she is directly demanding that the workers get vaccinated, whether or not the companies agree with that demand.

My younger sister was a surgical nurse assistant for open heart surgery here in Michigan from 1997 until 2012. The reason nurses and doctors wear surgical masks in the O.R. is to keep bodily fluids of the patient from the nose and mouth. Any nurse or doctor who completed medical school will tell you the same thing, paper or cloth masks do not stop virus. The virus passes freely through in and out. Science.

My pastor was talking to some people after church about vaccine mandates. He advised them to pen a letter to their employer stating that if they are told they must be vaccinated then they need to hand write a letter to the employer telling them the following

1. You have a deeply held religious conviction that taking the vaccine would violate those deeply held religious beiefs.
2. That if you are Required to take the vaccine as a condition of continued employment, that you would be doing it under duress.
3. That forcing you to take the vaccine is an unconstitutional violation of your right to liberty and religion
4. That the employer is fully aware of your objections to taking the vaccine and are still committed to forcing you to take this vaccine despite your objections.
5) Then sign it and demand that the employer sign it and date it acknowledging that they have read it and understand it.

He told them if they still insist on it and they need their job, to go ahead and take the Vax.

He then advised that the these employees (in these cases, they were police and sheriff employees) have all reported back to him that their employers did not sign it. They have not demanded they take the vaccines and they are still all working.

Apparently they are afraid of the lawsuits should it be later determined that mandates are unconstitutional.
