Shortly after Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the new rules on Aug. 3, a sign appeared in the front window of Pasticceria Rocco, a pastry shop and diner in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn: “We do not discriminate against any customer based on sex, gender, race, creed, age, vaccinated or unvaccinated. All customers who wish to patronize are welcome.”
“For me, it’s not political — most of my customers are vaccinated,” said Mary Josephine Generoso, who manages the eatery. “It’s about civil liberties and freedoms. Now we have to be in a society where people can’t roam freely and enter my place of business if they want to? How is that OK in the United States of America?”

Good. It’s only going to stop if the restaurants and other businesses refuse to enforce it.
Since some minority groups have low vaccination rates she is also avoiding being the defendant in a discrimination lawsuit. Turning away the majority of black people while seating 80 or 90 percent of other ethnic groups is likely to cause trouble and lawsuits.

Of course this is a position she has that her own self interest as a factor. However almost everything a person believes is out of a position of self interest at best, selfishness at worst.
At least in this womans case you can surmise its something she holds out of a golden rule type of belief, she wants to treat people the way she also would want to be treated. The vaxholes demanding forced vaxxes and mandates do so out of pure personal selfishness. They do not care what happens to others, and they dont care if peoples choi es that are different from theirs are taken away from them, they only want this done because they believe it will help Them, they dont care at all if others are injured or killed by mandated shots.

Stupid question, but say her restaurant was swamped (or any restaurant or bar) and you had to show your proof of vaccination. Does the worker just glance at it? How can they prove it’s legit? The chances of getting caught with a fake card is so slim.
