Chuck Schumer said federal law enforcement officials need to crack down on fake COVID-19 vaccination cards, which are being sold online.
Schumer's announcement Sunday comes after AP previously reported how people are cheating the system and, worrying officials at colleges and universities across the country that are requiring proof students received the vaccine to attend in-person classes.
A user on the encrypted messaging app Telegram offered what they described as "COVID-19 Vaccine Cards Certificates," for as much as $200 each, the report said.
Schumer is demanding US Customs and Border Protection and the FBI team up with officials from the Department of Health and Human Services to launch a crackdown on the counterfeit cards and start a campaign to make clear that forging the cards could land people in federal prison.
He also wants the Justice Department to immediately prioritize cases involving fake vaccine cards and is pushing for Customs and Border Protection to work harder to find counterfeit cards being sent from overseas.
Federal agents have already seized thousands of fake vaccine cards this year. Customs and Border Protection officers working in Memphis seized another shipment earlier this week - sent from Shenzhen, China, - that contained dozens of fake cards, officials said.
Border agents knew immediately that the cards were fake, the agency said, because the cards were laden with typos, unfinished words, and incorrect or misspelled Spanish words on the backs of the cards.

The vaccines are not 100% Pfizer is down to 46% against delta at those levels it makes no sense to smallpox like inoculate the viral vectors won’t be broken against the original strain wit 90+% effective rates it did. The benefit now to the vaccines is they allow for the body to get a head start on antibodies for the delta strain and have cut the death rate from it for vaccinated in Texas way down compared to unvaccinated 8700 to 48 from.Feb till last month that’s a big difference in out comes.

Even just using the CDC emblem is a 5 year felony if you are not authorised to use it. Falsifying a government document is yet another felony in addition to the false seal.
Could we ask that manufactures create an interactive vaccine, one that could communicate with the recipient and a central health facility, giving a constant COVID infection update? As an example, if it beeps a warning, the recipient could simply report back home immediately to begin a 2-week quarantine.

I wouldn’t want a subdermal sensor that could break loose and give me a stroke. There already is transdermal sensors for diabetes that stick to the skin and have tiny microneedles that cross the dermal barrier to sense blood sugar levels those same transdermal sensors could be configured with Igd or similar antigen detector arrays to sense an active covid infection without having to implant a sensor full time. With modern thermoelectrics the sensors patch could even be powered by the bodies heat itself. Same effect much less risk. The patches are moved in diabetic patients every 14 days to a new location to allow the natural skin process of shedding and renewals.
I see no need for this government health censor to be sub-dermal. Perhaps shape it as a cameo brooch for formal female wear, or as an addition to the Apple watch?
