Latest on the Kabul airport situation
BBC News ^ | August 15, 2021

We earlier reported on the chaos - including possible gunfire - at Kabul's international airport, where foreign evacuations are still ongoing.

There are reports now of civilians being injured on the tarmac. An eyewitness had told the BBC that the desperate attempts to flee at times resembled a stampede.

Now, if any Afghans there wish to return home, they must go through Taliban checkpoints, reports PBS's Jane Ferguson.

Journalist Bilal Sarwary shared a video of the airport in the early hours of 16 August

Biden paid the ransom.

Obama paid the ransom at Benghazi.

American taxpayer money used to cover up Democrat screw ups.

Earlier today I quoted a story from CNN that basically stated that. They evacuated almost everyone too early. They have absolutely no intel on the ground and are, in the State Dept.’s word, “blind”.

Nobody else is getting out. It’s just a question of how many are there.

That would be so stupid that only an idiot, or a Biden staffer would do such a thing.

People will be fine for the most part imo.

The Taliban is somewhat moderated now. They are not nearly as insular or parochial as 20 years ago. They are Islamic but appreciate the benefits 20 years of development have brought to Afghanistan.

Almost all of their leaders have been to Arabian gulf states and have acted as diplomats representing the Taliban as a legitimate, responsible political organization.

They’ve been exposed to pro-Western GCC politics and diplomacy and pretty much like it and want similar development for Afghanistan. They are not like the Taliban of 20 years ago and certainly not Isis.

America’s reign as the sole global superpower will be marked from the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989 to the fall of the US Embassy in Kabul on August 15, 2021.

We gave it away.

The people on the ground there have apparently assessed the situation differently than you.

What does the UN have to do with how the Pashtun treat their women?

It’s hardly appropriate to refer to customs imposed by a foreign conqueror (and a weak one at that) as “hard won rights” that “must be respected”.

The Pashtun have, I believe, the right of self-rule under that stupid UN “charter”. This is what democracy looks like.

Curious how how much warning Biden gave Britain, Australia and NATO Allies? My guess ZERO.

Remember almost everybody overseas said "Ah. It's so fabulous to have America back again after that horrible Trump fellow." Meaning "good to have a patsy, a born yesterday idiot fall guy like Biden who will let America go down to ruin for our gain."

So, too bad, anti-Trump foreigners. You trusted the Dems.

Such Drama.

Watch this:

The US will meet with the Taliban and propose continuation of national development projects with continued GCC and Western funding and participation. The Taliban will accept. They do not want to be assisted by Chinese communists who are atheists.

The Afghan government was from a small, urban segment of Afghan population. It was not broad based or representative of Afghanis as a whole. The Taliban is much more so and has been included in GCC-hosted regional political and development talks for 12 years.

We should work with Qatar and flip to supporting the Taliban and continuing development which will keep China out. The Afghans and Qataris will support this as they do not like atheists and particularly communists.

Golden opportunity here.

Heck, send Trump as an envoy. He’ll seal the deal.

Sexual pervert flag....

Gosh, hope that flag didn’t get bullet holes in it and then accidentally burned up. That’d be a shame.

That’s foolish, and it won’t take long for you to find that out, either, less than a week is my guess.

Time will tell if that’s true but I definitely see a Taliban rebrand in motion. No head chopping in the main square this week.

Their leadership has spent a lot of time with the GCC states over the last 12 years. They are more like diplomats than Islamic militants. Let’s see what happens.
