After weeks of celebrity tryouts, leaks and heated speculation by game show fans, current executive producer Mike Richards and actor Mayim Bialik have been named permanent co-hosts of Jeopardy!, marking the first time two people will host one of television's most popular game shows.
Richards will host the daily syndicated program, while Bialik hosts the primetime series and new spinoffs. The announcement was first reported by The Daily Beast.
Widely circulated reports that Richard was first in line for the job provoked immediate backlash online. Critics described the choice as unadventurous and pointed to a lawsuit alleging toxic behavior in a previous job. Infuriated fans of LeVar Burton, the beloved television icon known for his work on shows ranging from Roots to Reading Rainbow to Star Trek: The Next Generation were also quick to express displeasure.

Leftist vocabulary does not mean what you think it does.
Is that Sheldon’s girlfriend? She turned him gay, you know.
Next to Jim Parsons, I suppose. The real shame is that she seems to have let Hollywood strip her of her religious beliefs in order to have a career there.
I am pleased that Mike Richards will be handling the day-to-day job. When he was there, he was the perfect blend of knowledge and cool that Alex Trebek and Art Fleming showed when they were the hosts. Most of the other "guest hosts" came off as ditzy, snarky, or generally overbearing. Alex, Art, and Mike all understand that the host is there to move the game along without being the center of attention. Much like officials in baseball, football and hockey are (or used to be).
Bialik is an actual neuroscientist so at least she has some brains. She was hired so there would be less static about hiring a white boy, even though Mike Richards obviously is the best pick on paper. I haven’t seen him so I have no idea if he’s any good in front of a camera.
The sarcasm is strong in this one.
Yea don’t see her working out…
She’s a smart gal, but she is a actor as well, I just don’t see her letting that go and being serious.
I would think she’d try to play it like a family feud host and trying to crack jokes and I just don’t think that style will work with jeopardy
I liked Buzzy the best as well. David Faber, the CNBC business report from last week was also really good. Levar Burton unequivocally sucked.
Mike Richards should get the job by himself. Bialik (”I have two degrees.”), Hannity (”I have family in FBI.”), and Ben (”My wife is a doctor.”) are boring.
Did she play the nerd girlfriend on The Big Bang?
She’s about a 5.5 on a scale of 1 to 10.
But he did a good job
Mayim Bialik gets points for having a PhD. She also has that nerd thing going but ... game show host? Certainly better than a bimbo like Katie Couric but it does seem like an odd fit for a sitcom chick ... but what do I know?
Mike Richards would be fine. They should just pick someone and move on. I think the TV execs are overthinking this.
Maybe it is a nerd bakeoff. May the best nerd win.
I think it’s pretty lame having two people host a show like jeopardy. It’s a game show not the Huntley Brinkley newshour.

When I also just skimmed the article, I thought like this too. But they are not co-hosting. It’ll be two different shows. One daytime. One nighttime.
Richards will do a fine job on days. Bialik will bomb on primetime and be gone by end of year.
OK — two different shows - that makes more sense. Thanks.
They should try Keith Richards of “The Rolling Stones.”
Okay, we can watch again when Richards hosts. We went through cold turkey this summer boycotting “Jeopardy” when these fools decided to subject us to a parade of leftist hosts.
Right? He might just carry the show for 20 more years.
(Whoo)
Who watches ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN or others on cable TV? Who still has Cable? Why?
What are you talking about? Cable TV has nothing to do with Jeopardy.
You do know you can watch it over the air or on a streaming device, right?
No, she's Modern Orthodox, at least as far as observance goes. That implies some relationship with a god.
