Gina Krasley, known to reality TV viewers as the new star of TLC’s “My 600-lb Life,” has died. She was 30 years old.
Her official cause of death has not been announced, but she passed away Sunday at her home in Tuckerton, N.J., “surrounded by her loving family” at the time, according to her obituary.
Krasley joined the TLC series in 2020 — which chronicles the lives of obese people undergoing gastric bypass surgeries — and was featured in an episode presciently titled “Time Is Running Our For Gina,” which has nearly 1 million views on YouTube.
“My life’s been hard,” Krasley admitted in the heartrending introduction to the clip. “…I always felt my entire life like I was just pushed under the rug.”
She had recently posted social media videos about health struggles that had rendered her immobile with severe pain in her extremities.
“‘I remember what made me forget the pain of being abandoned was eating — and by the time I was 10, I was already over 150 pounds,” Krasley once said on the TLC show.
By 14, she weighed more than 300 pounds, yet she continued to turn to food as an “escape,” she said. “As I was getting closer to 500 pounds, it started to get harder to do things.”

Watch the video. er... don’t.
She figured out she likes girls and got on a dating sight and found Beth, short for Bertha.
They haven’t had sex for two years.
Hope your not eating.

Is this the show that has the doctor from Houston? He will tell them like it is without pulling his punches and then go after their enablers.
Here’s someone who had a similar challenge, met it head-on, and now owns a gym.

I don’t get people watching these so called entertainment shows. I find them disgusting
We need some more Al Bundy.
Well said.
Yes I agree that she brought it on herself and obesity shouldn’t be celebrated.
As a former fat person, however, I can’t help having compassion for these people. Addiction of any kind is a bitch. I thank God for my health now.
I briefly watched a show that was about hoarders. After a few episodes, it got too depressing to continue watching.
Wow, thanks for posting this.
That's because reservation life has got most of them eating white man's food--high fat, high carbohydrates. Under the original native culture they were more hunter-gatherer types and had higher protein diets.
I lived with Indians in Canada for two years and it was common for young Indian children to come into the house and scoop a handful of lard from the kitchen, sprinkle a little salt on it and just eat it straight. That can't be good for you.
Sorry she had such incompetent parents.
And all this while a virus that specifically makes it difficult for those that are obese to survive.
wonder if toilets have a maximum load rating...
Had a friend die from an infection following GBS. She posted on FB from the hospital saying she was sick post op and the next day she was gone.
She was 700 lbs when she started....dropped 300 lbs. She also sued for how she was treated.
Obese people who ‘emotionally eat’ generally do so to build ‘a wall of flesh’ to keep people away from hurting them.
There’s nothing “Beautiful” about obesity.
If she got on a motorcycle we would be burying the bike...
Food poisoning?
Kinda like calling drowning, water poisoning?
