The regional government in Andalucía has decided to limit access to the interior of nightlife venues to people who provide their digital Covid certificate or a negative PCR or antigen test.
Juanma Moreno, the president of Andalucía, had previously refused to rule out this measure when questioned, and now, following the guidance of the Committee of Experts, the decision has been made to implement the measure from midnight on August 5.
The Covid certificate contains the following medical information: the vaccines the person has received (type and number), whether the person has recovered from Covid recently and if the person has had a negative PCR or antigen test in the past 72 hours.
This certificate can be downloaded from the regional health app or from the website (ClicSalud+) and it can also be requested in health centres.
Along with this controversial measure, which has been rejected by the national Spanish government, the Committee of Experts also proposed extending the restrictions approved on July 22; occupancy limits and curfews in the worst affected municipalities.
The health experts also proposed new measures in care homes for the elderly, such as weekly Covid testing for staff who haven’t been vaccinated and the obligatory use of face masks for both residents and staff members in residences with one or more confirmed Covid cases; masks are only currently mandatory for members of staff.
In addition, the Health Minister in Andalucía has mentioned that, although the age group with the highest incidence rate is the 20 to 29-year-olds, hospitals in the region are already being put under pressure by the fifth wave.
If this works maybe they can require that people going to meatmarkets/nightclubs prove they don’t have any STDs before they will be allowed to enter.
“For your own good, y’know.”
No certifico, no Disco....................
The young will take the parties outside. It rarely rains in andalucia and it’s never cold so young People party outside all the time anyway.
We have a section along one of the beaches that is where several nightclubs are located. There is a promenade right above it. At night the locals who can't afford the pricey drinks bring cheap liquor and hang out at the promenade, listening to the music and dancing. Been like that for years.
