Just looked at pics of the authors of the study.
Nuff said.
For your interest.
In a nutshell, they don’t yet know what effect it has. It’s complicated. The end.
I would fail as a popular science writer.
Maybe not. But it sure helps them celebrate success by making love to real women!
Bill Gates? Bah HA HA HA!!

Results:
Being a man is good for men.
Trying to be a man is bad for women.
was this study done in the UK?
New “science”.
“...testosterone rises in the winner compared to the loser.”
My experience and conclusion applied in my life....
Testostrerone does not put you on the top...but when you get there it increases dramatically as you are the new alpha.
50 years of ranching, dogging, horsing, heavy construction, combat arms, cut throat executive ranks....and controlling/leading the very rough men associated with those pursuits has always reinforced my prejudice is this matter.
I recall reading/seeing studies also indicating this in great apes and all cooperative group predators, ie chimps/gorillas/lions/wolves/wild dogs...even baboons.
Life’s beautiful tapestry.
It is good to be a king.
Then you get your ass kicked.
I imagine their thinking goes like this:
If testosterone is what makes people successful, then it just makes sense that Men have all the power in the world.
We need to fight the patriarchy. We need to establish that women can have power too. Women should be in charge of everything. What we need, in short, is a study that says testosterone is not what makes people successful.
‘Success’ is the ultimate example of relative terminology.
If it did blacks would be more successful....

Specious “science” intended to undercut the mountain of data, that higher testosterone is linked to measures of performance and achievement. They don’t want testosterone to be thought of as “good” because toxic, you know, patriarchy. So they cobble together a poorly worded title (No, it doesn’t “make” one more anything) to downplay the obvious.
In a world where there is no distinction between “genders” this is important to establish.
“Rather than testosterone influencing a person’s socioeconomic position, it could be that having a more advantaged socioeconomic position raises your testosterone.”
That is commonly seen in animals.
The beta male has lower testosterone than the alpha. When that beta becomes the alpha, his testosterone rises to the alpha level.
Maybe it is the female attention/interaction that stimulates it.
If belief is so widespread, why is this the first time I’m hearing about it (and I’m the same age Moses would have been, if he had lived)?
