A man in Florida is facing several charges, including attempted premeditated murder, after allegedly flagging down an officer outside the Hollywood Police Department headquarters and following him into the lobby – eventually wrestling him to gain control of the officer’s gun.
Shawn Brennan, 43, attempted to flag down an officer outside the department headquarters building located at 3250 Hollywood Boulevard during the afternoon of July 2, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported. He approached the officer and began threatening him, the police department said.
In an effort to diffuse the situation, the officer backed away and retreated into the lobby of the building, but Brennan followed him, WPLG reported.
A violent struggle broke out and Brennan attempted to grab the officer’s holstered gun. Several officers who witnessed the confrontation jumped in to help and the man was eventually subdued, WFOR-TV reported.
Brennan is charged with attempted premeditated murder, armed robbery, armed burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Meanwhile, ambush attacks on law enforcement officers nationwide are up 91% year to date compared to 2020, a police group said last week.
The National Fraternal Order of Police found that 51 law enforcement officers were shot, 13 of whom died, in 40 ambush-style attacks as of June 30, a 91% jump from the same time last year. In all of 2020, there were 48 ambush-style attacks, which left 60 officers wounded, 12 fatally, according to the group’s 2020 summary.

Ashli Babbitt wasn’t trying to get the gun away from her killer.
Can’t make this up.
From the name, Shawn Brennan and not DeShawn Brennan or similar, I thought he would be a white person. And I thought that was odd. Usually crazy chit like this is done by black people. Then I looked. I guess his mother just didn’t get the memo on names, and I seriously doubt he had a father anywhere nearby.
I assume because it’s Florida under DeSantis this punk will face real justice. If it was New York where I unfortunately live, the punk would be released the same day NO bail and will do it again. Oh and if the cop injured the punk, the punk could sue the cop thanks to AOC and other demoMarxists who limited qualified immunity......

It takes a special kind of stupid to try to wrestle a gun away from a cop and that’s doubly true when there isn’t even a confrontation going on to begin with.
Damn white supremacists again ... oh wait ... pic attached .. forget it .... nothing to see.
She was being helped through the window by a Capitol cop when she was shot.
PS: That killer cop will skate just like the FBI sniper who took out that family at Ruby Ridge.
Yes. She was just a Trump supporter after all.
Cultural appropriation of the name.
Wrestling over a cop’s gun inside the police station. He’s going to catch it from the other dumb inmates.
Triply so when you first follow the cop into the lobby of the police station full of cops.
The usual suspect. Another White Supremacist in blackface.

That was a coordinated sequence of steps. And that window pane was easily pushed out.
Cop gets in position, actors then signal it’s time for her entry, then “boom”... the blank round to the hip. IIRC, the trajectory was too low by at least 5 degrees at the point the muzzle flashed.

A cop I used to know, 6 feet, 180 pounds, physically fit guy, was on what he said was a very routine traffic stop on a large black male. Said the guy suddenly, no warning whatsoever, reached down and tried to grab his gun. Cop fought him off and then had to chase him down. There are crazy people out there.

While I have absolutely no sympathy for this perp, the attempted premeditated murder charge seems excessive based on the information provided. Did he choke the officer until he was unconscious or how did he attempt to murder the officer?
