Professors at America's top medical schools are being bullied into teaching students that biological sex is a construct and are apologizing for using the terms 'male' and 'female', students say.
Reporter Katie Herzog spoke with one student at a med school in the University of California system who says instructors are too scared to acknowledge the existence of two different sexes because it 'can be considered transphobic.'
The student - identified only as Lauren - shared her story with Herzog in an article published on Bari Weiss's Substack blog on Tuesday.
'I think there's a small percentage of instructors who are true believers [in woke ideology], but most of them are probably just scared of their students,' Lauren told Herzog.
Lauren claims that, in recent months, students have circulated a number of petitions designed to 'name and shame' instructors for 'wrongspeak.'
In one of Lauren's classes, which was recorded and posted online, a professor profusely apologized for using the term 'pregnant woman'.
Lauren says the unnamed professor told their class: 'I said "when a woman is pregnant," which implies that only women can get pregnant and I most sincerely apologize to all of you.
'I don't want you to think that I am in any way trying to imply anything, and if you can summon some generosity to forgive me, I would really appreciate it,' the professor states in the recording, which Herzog obtained access to.
'It was certainly not my intention to offend anyone. The worst thing that I can do as a human being is be offensive.'
'Since recent petitions were sent out, instructors have been far more proactive about 'correcting' their slides in advance or sending out emails to the school listserv if any upcoming material has 'outdated' terminology,' Lauren told Herzog.

Any person who attends medical school and questions the existence of only two genders should be immediately flunked out of said school for their inability to comprehend the science of anatomy.

I’ve filled out numerous medical forms of late. The only selections are Male or Female. One form did have “Prefer not to say.” (It was the urologist’s office. My guess is the doctor would make a determination and just not share it with the patient.) I always ask about the other 67 possibilities and I generally get back a blank stare or, “huh?” This tells me that the gender tsunami is a tempest in a very small teapot. If more professors, when challenged, said, “Okay, get out of my classroom!” then all of this would go away in one heck of a hurry. The problem is, professors know they have zero backup from management.
Concerning the students, what comes to mind is the way prisoners will use any right they have to annoy the jailer.
Another way to end this is to do away with college degrees and instead base everything on obtaining a certificate of accomplishment by passing tests. I have in mind something like the SAT or the Civil Engineering License test. Then, universities would only teach people how to obtain the necessary skills to pass a test. Probably there would be few calls for a doctorate test in Gender Studies or Assault Feminism.
Gee, when I went to grad school, bullying your professors would get you thrown out of class, and if it continued, it would get you thrown out of school. The good ones would let you argue with them, if you had a rational argument, but bullying would be a line crossed only once.
Student: “Professor, you said ‘pregnant woman’ and that is not proper terminology.”
Professor: “You are an idiot and you are in serious danger of failing my class. I suggest you stop saying stupid stuff.”

My point is, apologies are over-rated. Any apology someone has to ask for or coerce is no real apology. Hint, if you are truly self-secure and self-assured, you don't care what other people think of you. You don't care if they apologize or not because they don't matter. Running around worrying about or feeling like you're owed an apology is a sign of weakness and insecurity.

It gave way to political correctness and hurt feelings and wokeness.

“Gynecologist” is based on a Greek word for “woman”. They’ll have to change that hateful word as well.
Since the beginning of humanity, around 50% of people have been born with organs that, when matured, support the conception and bearing of children. Wouldn’t it be medically useful to have a word for people with that condition?
