A Golden Valley Menards shut down Thursday amid protests over an employee’s work-related death.
According to the Golden Valley Police Department, a male employee died Thursday morning when a pallet of lumber struck his forklift. He was dead by the time first responders arrived.
A woman who identified herself as the decedent’s sister and a group of protesters later arrived at the location and were angered that the store was still open.
“This needs to close down. Look at all these workers. Look at all these workers and nobody gives a flying f*** my brother just died working the job,” a woman says in a video from the scene.
She’s so upset that her brother died that she managed to get a group together to protest within a few hours?!
She doesn’t care about her brother at all
Menard’s is rasis!
Any bets the sister wants a payout just to keep from suing Menards (frivolously)?
“The new norm.”
You may have forgotten that one reason that the Ferguson situation really boiled over was the charge that police left the sainted gentle giant’s body on the street for hours as they investigated his death. This was seen as ‘disrespect’.
The same reaction occurs when monuments and shrines to the new saints aren’t shown proper respect.
Insanity and entitlement are the new norm.
Somehow him hitting a pile of lumber and killing himself is somebody’s fault but not his own.
We have hit the limit.
And what’s accomplished by this? All of the other workers get to earn less until they reopen? This isn’t about your brother, it’s about you. Would you have shut down the highway if he died in a car accident? Yeah, you probably would because it’s not about him.
Bingo, that’s what this is all about. $$$$$$!
WTF?!? A pallet of lumber struck his forklift?!? HTF did that happen?!?
My guess is the forklift struck the pallet of lumber.
“…male employee died Thursday morning when a pallet of lumber struck his forklift…”
************************************************
When I used to work in a lumber yard the forklift I was driving would “strike” pallets of lumber to be moved instead of a pallet of lumber “striking” my forklift.
I’m guessing an accident due to operator error could have happened if he was inserting or removing a pallet of lumber to or from an overhead level. I’m assuming they’ll be doing a drug test on the deceased.
In any case, the deceased man’s family was out of control and were misdirecting their grief and anger.
My guess is the forklift struck the pallet of lumber.
From his lift when he tilted it too far...
Menard’s near me has a high turnover of young people. The ones on the floor inside, I can’t tell what gender some of them are. I don’t even go there anymore. It’s like the walmart of home improvement stores. Bunch of china crap “distributed by Menard’s”.
It will be such a relief when the civil war goes hot.
Forklift safety starring “Klaus”. Funniest safety film ever!
In the original German.

🤣👍❣
LOVED the Klaus forklift driver safety video.
Been a long time since I saw it last.
Due time for a review😁
Please share the name of the home improvement store you go to that sells predominantly American made products. TIA
Let me guess, do I need to look at the video?
Looking for a quick settlement check.
“a pallet of lumber struck his forklift...
There ought to be a law!
