SAN ANTONIO – Forty-two people are now in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 at a San Antonio assisted living facility, a management company for the facility confirms.
The positive cases were reported among 31 residents and 11 staff members last week at Heartis San Antonio Assisted Living and Memory Care on the far North Side.
All 31 residents are fully vaccinated; four staff members are fully vaccinated, three have their first doses and four have not been vaccinated, officials said.

Let’s see … 31 fully vaccinated assisted living patients are found during weekly COVID-19 testing to have tested positive. So they are “cases”. They haven’t been sent to hospitals and there’s no indication in the article that these residents even feel sick.
Imagine the holocaust that would have occurred if this happened BEFORE THE VACCINATIONS!

So exactly what does 99.x percent effective mean again?
Are they showing symptoms? If yes, how many of them? Hospitalized? Deaths? If not hospitalizations and deaths, then this means that the vaccines are working as expected. Everyone is going to get infected, the vaccine was never supposed to stop that.

I wasn’t watching TV last night so I missed President Trump saying that.
Some key questions here. They are suggesting that Delta variant is highly transmissible. But is it more deadly? Is it more likely to “break through” vaccines? Is ADE an issue?
I read where JNJ said their vaccine provides very good protection against the Delta variant. Also read that 80%+ of all new cases are Delta variant. I cannot confirm either stat it’s just media reports, which are mostly FOS regardless of the topic. In the UK there is a spike, like here in the US, but hospitalizations are 40% vaccinated. It could be that the vaccine they use in the UK is crap against Delta and not applicable here (since the AstraZeneca vaccine used in the UK is not available in the USA).
Too much to dissect. But the CDC, whether you trust them or not, claims the Delta variant is 1000 times more concentrated and more transmissible. But is it more deadly? What is the relative risk? Does it break-through some or all of the vaccines more readily?
Lots of open questions imo. These reports we get are not complete, full, transparent. That just breeds more distrust. I get that TPTB are trying to bully the unvaccinated into getting the jab so I take it all with a grain of salt. Which is too bad that our sources of information are completely untrustworthy.
The Swine Flu epidemic didn’t end until they stopped testing for it.
From what I've read its only expected to be positive on anti-body tests, not on tests for the virus which are supposed to be very rarely positive after vaccination.
So if the tests given in the nursing home were anti-body tests, no big deal. Otherwise it would seem the vaccines are not working as expected.

You got that right. They never promised the vaccines would prevent infection or the spread of infection. They just said it would reduce risk of severe infection, hospitalization or death.
But they don't make clear is whether it is an absolute reduction in risk, or a reduction in relative risk. Clearly a very large number of people infected never get any symptoms at all, or symptoms so mild they don't even bother to get tested. Of the 330 million or so people in America, only 100 million tests have been administered (don't hold me to that number, I could be wrong). I count for at least 4 of them, maybe 5. So what is the real infection rate vs the published data? I'd just stab in the dark that the real infection/recovery rate is well more than 2x the official number.
They really don't want open and free and honest dialogue about any of this. Too bad. Just breeds more distrust.

Which in and of itself, barring all other questions and concerns, would be a good thing.
But IMO we should fully expect positive tests to rise even among the vaccinated. If the Delta variant is as transmissible and potent as they say, then expect it to spread even among the vaccinated. Ideally, no big deal. I am of two minds. The vaccinated should, in theory, have reduced risk of severe infection. So should the previously infected. On the other hand, viruses that kill their hosts die with them. So Delta may be more transmissible but is it more deadly?

Who is “they” that you keep referring to? Last night that bumbling, drooling nursing home escapee that the media claims is “president” announced on live television that vaccinated people do not get COVID. PERIOD.
And I am just reflecting the expectations from that page, figuring it is better than my own.

Well, in this population of 31 fully vaccinated assisted living residents who were exposed to the virus and then tested positive, the vaccines apparently 100% delivered on the promise. It appears the only thing that happened to the 31 was that the virus exposure merely further STRENGTHENED THEIR EXISTING IMMUNITY.
