Ask Bezos to disassemble and reassemble it in Death Valley as a space launch pad and tourist spectacle.

We stayed on it a few years ago and had a great time.
Seeing this, I’m very glad for the experience. It was like stepping into a time machine.

The QM wouldn’t make it two hundred off the dock before it sinks or capsizes. Much of its insides have been torn out and its hull neglected so it won’t be able to move without immediate damage.
Plus you have the most inept city government in California trying to save it.

My niece worked their giving tours for several years. Stories abound about the ship being haunted. She looked me right in the eyes and said: “Those aren’t stories. I’ve seen them, there is definitely something there.”

    What? How is that possible?
..............
Before you can sink a ship, it has to have all toxic materials stripped. That isn’t cheap. Plus it’s California.

Does the Navy even know how to use their weapons? I mean with so much of their train time taken up by learning to be woke and being taught how racist they are I don’t see much time for anything else.

I don’t think it can move or be towed.
It will have to be dismantled in place.
I wonder why they could not just cement it in. and make it a walk-in historical hotel.

Maybe it costs that much because of the kickbacks that would go to the officials awarding the contract.

"I wonder why they could not just cement it in. and make it a walk-in historical hotel. That makes too much sense and it is way too cheap. The ship is being held hostage by the establishment. Either citizens cough up money for and insanely generous contract so that Nancy Pelosi or her nephew Gavin Newsom can milk us dry they will destroy the nice stuff, it's just the way it is

As a kid my Dad took my brother and I to see it’s last voyage into Long Beach Harbor. 55 years ago and I have never been to see it up close.

Access to the ship was pretty wide open back in 1974, when a buddy and I used to roam around inside. We’d look for signs that said: Not Open to the Public.
A friend’s wife was a bartender in the Capstan Room, so we were able to buy drinks, in spite of being underage.
