Ummm... Yellowstone?
Posted on 07/16/2021 8:00:28 PM PDT by djf
Seems to be a cluster of quakes in Lake Yellowstone. I know, I know, these are not rare... something about it caught my eye!

Did someone slip Old Faithful a Covid vaccine? That would explain the negative reaction. ;-)

What exactly “caught your eye”? Jellystone has minor quake swarms regularly.

We only have 12.6548 years left anyway
might as well get it over with

They are all very concentrated in the center of the Lake.
They are all mag 2.0+, with about a third of them being 3.0+
Like I said, I watch these regularly and I know they’re not that unusual.
That’s all.

I’ve been hoping for the Big Giant Asteroid, but Yellowstone would do.

There is a whole lot of magma moving around under there. Yellowstone sits on top of a hot spot on the Earth. Every 600,000 years or so it erupts into a super- volcano. The latest eruption is overdue.

Actually the caldera I’m worried about isn’t Jellystone, it’s Mono Lake in Ca.

IIRC, a Yellowstone eruption would be the end of USA.

Giant meteor hitting China would be ok as long as it wasn’t super giant. Sorry for getting all technical.
