Inflation continued its rapid surge in June, rising at its fastest pace in nearly 13 years amid an ongoing burst in used vehicle costs and increases in both food and energy, the Labor Department reported Tuesday.
The consumer price index increased 5.4% from a year ago, the largest jump since August 2008, just before the worst of the financial crisis. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting a 5% gain.
Stripping out volatile food and energy prices, the core CPI rose 4.5%, the sharpest move for that measure since September 1991 and well above the estimate of 3.8%.
Nothing to see folks , just a few overpriced used cars
Unexpected
“Transitory”
The Communists are right on plan...the Cloward-Piven plan, that is.
“Inflation is our friend.”
“Inflation proves that Biden’s policies are working”

Paging Mr. Raines, Mr. Claude Raines please pick up the white courtesy phone.
We’re gonna boogie oogie oogie ‘til we just can’t boogie no more.
Shades of 1980.
“...if current trends continue, the average blue-collar annual wage in this country will be $568,000. Think what this inflated world of the future will mean — most Americans will be millionaires. Everyone will feel like a bigshot.
“Wouldn’t you like to own a $4,000 suit, and smoke a $75 cigar, drive a $600,000 car? I know I would!”
“this helps the cause for $15/hr minimum wage”
Unexpectedly makes a comeback. Like in the obama years.
But hey, 16 cents on hot dogs !
Ain’t Communism wonderful.
And at the same time we ought to thank Biden the Al Forgetting for the fact that inflation is spiking?
Stuff like this is when you know that not even the Dim leaders believe their own talking points.
Yeah, think I will drop in on my credit union today and say they need raise the interest rates on savings to 5%. When they get done laughing, I know things will get worse. Meanwhile, I expect Bidet to figure out that it is a good time to raise taxes on the rich, you know, those actually paying taxes, the upper 50% of our society because they have more dollars available. Eaten away by both sides, inflation and taxes. Gird up, going to be a rough ride down from here.
No hot dogs? Remember, it’s pork chops and browned ground beef. No bread because the increase in bread prices is an inconvenient truth
And someone on this forum tried to tell me that ‘rising food prices’ doesn’t mean inflation and anyone who says that doesn’t understand what inflation is.
I supposed that means us ignorant folks should just accept it and STFU.
