We've heard this time and time again- its more financially beneficial to stay home and get your government "relief" than actually get a job. I am seeing it firsthand this week. We are in Cocoa Beach, Florida at our condos for a week and tonight went to one of our favorite restaurants Jazzy's Mainely Lobster. Over the past few days we've seen restaurants down here, including Jazzy's, with signs that read "closed Tuesday's." We asked the hostess why- her response? "They cannot find people who want to work. Its better for them to sit at home and collect money from the government. Restaurants here (Cocoa Beach) are suffering and most are closed on Tuesday because they do not have enough staff!!" I had heard about this but had not really experienced it until now. Brought to you by biden and the democrats.
Apologies for the title.
Who’s tom and why doesn’t he/she capitalize their name?
That’s hilarious!
U kneadta higher a pruf reeder.
SARCASM
In my favorite restaurant there is a sign that says
Sadly due to government handouts no one wants to work anymore.
Therefore we are shortstaffed. Please be patient with the staff that did choose to come to work today. And remember to tip your server.
They chose to show up to serve you.
Right above that sign is this sign.
Masks not required.
But keep your Socialism distance.
No ss put aside. No insurance. No savings. What could go wrong.
I don’t think they are doing that extended unemployment or whatever anymore
I think restaurants are having a hard time finding employees because of low pay and stressful bad work environments etc., and lots just didn’t go back after this last year
yup- we had a bit of a wait tonight but i tipped well. Food was terrific as it usually is.
Well of course. If you’re going to post a vanity and screw it up, expect some sarcasm, especially when it’s a several month old topic.
The wine was good evidently; https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3975293/posts?page=10#10
One of the reasons I’ve been more generous with my tips than before.
My impression is there’s a bit of a rock-and-a-hard-place situation going on...thanks to inflation the would-be workers are saying “I can’t make ends meet on that”, while thanks to the lockdowns having depleted their retained earnings (and the same inflation) the employers are saying “I can’t do better than that”.
Many people who formerly worked in restaurants have found better jobs at higher pay. When there is a big shortage of workers, that’s the time to move up the ladder.
Florida is down to 4.9% unemployed, and many of them are probably looking for other types of jobs.
It is the democrats under the table scheme to increase the minimum wage. Even chomo Joe said “pay them more.”
Talked to my liberal older sister last night. She's repainting a spare bedroom, because her daughter is moving back in. Her daughter is 45, hasn't worked in a year, had moved in with her son (my nephew). All liberals - no insurance, no savings, no job. My nephew got fed up with his sister living with him for a year without getting a job, and kicked her out. Good thing neither of them have kids, as they can't take care of themselves.
Don’t clutter news with vanities. Post in chat. Got it?
LOL
yet I’m sure they are preaching the need for everyone to get the vaccine!!!
