Harrison Ford Injures Shoulder Rehearsing ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Fight Scene; Production To Shoot Around Recovery
Deadline ^ | 6-23-21 | Mike Fleming jr.

Harrison Ford hurt himself rehearsing a fight scene in Indiana Jones 5, sources tell Deadline. The extent of his injury wasn’t immediately known, but it involves his shoulder. Director James Mangold will continue to shoot around him while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated. The filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks. Disney has set the Lucasfilm action thriller for a July 29, 2022 release date.

Production on Indiana Jones 5 got underway earlier this month in Pinewood and other U.K. locations. Ford stars alongside Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Thomas Kretschmann. Logan director James Mangold is taking over directing reins from Steven Spielberg, who still is serving as producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel. John Williams, who has worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise including its iconic theme, is also returning as composer.

Whatever Spielberg once had creatively he doesn’t anymore, he’s burned out and so is Lucas.

Seemed like they haven't produced anything good since the '80s.

It has been a long time since Spielberg turned out something any good. The last picture he did I was interested in was Munich, which I thought was well done.

Lots of great directors hit the creative wall later in life.

And I don’t consider Spielberg a great director.

Spielberg’s prime was short. He was good on the 70s and 80s but that’s about it. Like you said, he hit the creative wall young but he was never a great one anyway. He’s still better than some of the directors we have today. Zach Synder? He sucks bad.

Munich was the last he did I liked. Have not seen Lincoln and don’t care to.

If you’re so old that a shoulder injury makes the news, maybe it’s time to stop trying to film action movies.

I liked Harrison Ford in the Jack Ryan films and in Air Force One.

LOL — so sad... my right shoulder is killing me from pulling a sparsely laden tarp.

Harrison Ford was in Apocalypse Now? I recall Duvall, Shean, and Brando. An amazing film.

Ford had like one line in the beginning when they were eating and telling Sheen about his mission. There were a couple CIA? civilians and Ford was an army officer.

How many naps do you have in a day? I’m up to about 1 and 1/2, sometimes 2 a day.
