U.S.—The nation scrambled to buy F-15s and nuclear weapons after President Biden said in a speech Wednesday that you'll never beat a government unless you have the fighter jets and intercontinental ballistic missiles
All over the nation, American citizens were seen parking their brand-new F-15s in their driveways and garages. Some wealthier Americans purchased the F-22, while less fortunate citizens were forced to buy the F-35 joint fighter. But no matter what craft they chose, American citizens said they were just glad to finally be protected against a tyrannical government.
"I need an F-15 to beat the government? Say no more, fam!" said one man in New Hampshire as he happily rushed out to his local F-15 dealer to pick up the latest model. "Before, I thought my AR-15 would be enough, but when Biden pointed out that the U.S. government has fighter jets and I only have an assault rifle, I realized I really needed to beef up my anti-tyranny defense systems."
"Thanks, Mr. Biden! I sure am glad you reminded me of how brutal a government can be against its own citizens and how governments throughout history have in fact attacked their own people once they are disarmed and helpless."
The man was later seen picking up an M1 Abrams tank.
Actually, for a long time, there was a privately owned Mig-15 at the Tallahassee airport. It was a beautiful blood red with a Soviet star on the tail, if I recall. So, you can buy fighter aircraft. But at thousands of dollars per hour to operate and limited availability of missiles...well, it’s better to buy a sniper rifle. It’s hard to counter that with an F-15 and nuclear weapons. The Air Museum in Galveston TX has a flyable P-47D.
It is absolutely gorgeous.
That Plane did it all. Wicked Speed, excellent Ground Attack Platform and built like a Tank. It was the A-10 of its time and it was used well into the 1950’s by us and many other Countries.
I always felt it was unappreciated because the P-51 was prettier. It didn’t have the weakness of having a Water Cooled Engine so it could take a lot of punishment and still get the Pilot home.

Other than range, the P-47 was as good or better than the Mustang.
I wonder how much performance, or range would have been added if the P-47 had the Laminar flow wing that gave the Mustang its range?

A single reactor ignition should do it. We need a statement not a manifesto.
The P-47 with drop tanks easily escorted bombers to Germany. The P-51 had more internal fuel and could do it easier, but P-47s were quite capable of it. One major problem was the USAAF’s inability to provide drop tanks.
There is a guy on Youtube named “Greg’s Planes and Automobiles” who has an extensive series on the P-47. Well worth a look.
Just retarget a MMIII and you won’t need an F-15.
