As a result of its latest round of elections, the board of governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the body that directs the Oscars’ strategic vision, is now made up of 31 women and 23 men, the academy announced on Monday. It is the first time that the board has a female majority in the academy’s 94-year history.
Actor Rita Wilson, documentary editor and producer Jean Tsien and composer Lesley Barber are among the women newly elected to the board of governors.
The number of people of color has also reached new record levels through the academy’s 2021-2022 elections, rising from 12 to 15. […]
The number of members was dramatically expanded in the wake of the #OscarsSoWhite controversy in 2015. At the time, the AMPAS revealed that 93% of its then 6,000 members where white, and 76% of them were men, with an average age of 63.
The academy then pledged in early 2016 to double the number of women and people of color by 2020, a goal that, according to the organization’s own count, was indeed surpassed in June last year, with membership now one-third female and 19% “underrepresented minorities.” …

Pushing unreliable sources at me, and one that has been shown to be egregiously false in particular, is not showing me proof that I am wrong. Instead, it adds confirmation to my views. The burden of proof is not on me, further, since I made no claims and questioned the veracity of the claims.

Once females take anything over, males aren’t interested in it anymore. It’s happened over the years in a lot of professions.
Remember the bridge in Florida(wasn’t it Florida?) that was built by an all female construction company and the thing collapsed and killed a few people? Didn’t they do some further investigating and find this company of broads had questionable builds before?

In the meantime here’s another little fact for you to think about. According to Pew Research (I know they’re lefty so throw this data out right?) in 2018 56% of women identify or lean towards the Democratic Party compared to just 44% for men.

As I said, I made no claims, so I have no burden of proof to shoulder. But the “proof” put forward to the effect of women being such large supporters of the Democratic Party is highly questionable (at best) and remains so. And this is “proof” you readily swallow and expect me to swallow, which leads me to believe that you yourself are not willing to search out such proof yourself that you ask of me, but are content with the assertions of the alphabet networks, the failed VNS and the failing Edison Research. I do not take kindly to proof by assertion.

My purpose for being here is to learn, and to sort out fact from fiction. I appreciate those with particular knowledge of a subject. Sometimes it’s the law, others facets of science or medicine. Any topic really.
Then there are those who hold that their views are correct simply on the basis of self confirmation. No data is cited, no supporting evidence provided. They often accuse others of personal insult just before launching a string of ad hominem attacks.
That type provides endless entertainment.

Your own words state that Mariner’s remarks where untrue. Therefore any objective reader understands that you meant ALWAYS, including the present day. Had you written something like “had traditionally been white left-wing males” that might be different.
Of course that raises the question. Were there really any left-wing white males in the Democratic Party in 1920. Most would have been socials, communists, or perhaps anarchists. So your defense doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny.
