Pingy.................
Not for me.
Meanwhile the environmentalist will resist increasing power generation on the grid.
Rolling blackouts anyone?
What’s the towing capacity....especially in 4WD?
Why the hell would anybody buy it if not in an effort to be "green"?
If Biden creates auto industry jobs, it will be in China.
Who drove the truck for Biden’s test-ride, or did he go from one end of an empty parking lot, to the other?
The author sure does have a lip lock on Democrat a$$.
No thanks.
I’ll stay with my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee HEMI V8.
A two door work truck that is free of all the extraneous electronic bells and whistles might succeed.
The vehicle will be pared down to a “truck” that can earn money. A tool that costs more money than it can earn is scorned
It was learned here on Free Republic that among the senior citizens, electric golf carts are being replaced with gasoline carts for scooting around the senior community and a short trip to McDonalds and Walmart. That fact is reverse evolution
• How long does it take to fill up the “tank”?
• How far does it go on a full “tank”?
These are important questions for working vehicles.
Not this guy. I’ll keep my gas Tacoma.
Take a week off to take the camper and family to Appalachia. Spend entire week doing 6 hour charge cycles every 80 miles. A Bugatti is probably going to serve more practical purposes than this half-baked product. However the need to consume will without a doubt somehow make this successful.
Its a cold winter day in Texas. You go to plug in your truck, but the windmill froze. Now whatcha gonna do?
Teslas truck looks good to me and I am NO supporter of electric vehicles in general.
Will it go 500 miles while driving at 75mph while pulling a boat, with AC blasting in the summer, or pulling a couple of sleds on a trailer, with the heat blasting, and without requiring hours to recharge along the way?
Good luck charging that thing in Texas when it is really cold and the wind farms are frozen up, or the wind isn’t blowing on a really hot day in summer. ERCOT already can’t meet the demand and they continue to push the BS that we are better off with the propellers instead of the actual power plants.
I’m not buying one of these pieces of crap. Overpriced, hippie ride. Another loser.
Ford has also submitted patents for a removable range extender motor disguised as one of those aftermarket, bed-mounted tool boxes. The motor would kick in to recharge the battery in the event there’s no charging station nearby.
If the government and the utility providers really believed electric car sales were going to grow strongly they’d be working on the grid to provide the massive power that will be needed to charge them.
They aren’t, the power grid is creaky, barely getting by (watch the coming brownouts this summer) and nothing is being done about it.
I live in the Big Valley here in California, albeit in an exurb nestled against the Altamont Hills (which means most of the residents are more likely to work for Silicon Valley than agricultural businesses). I see a lot of pickups here but the vast majority are what I call “boutique pickups” which are shiny and festooned with chrome. I suspect the owner would curl up in a fetal position if a speck of dust got in the bed, let alone some hay or manure. I can see the “boutique pickup” crowd going for the Lightning. Serious working stuffs? Nah.
LOL... We will see how long people like this.
Anyone notice that they never address the fact that these electric vehicle are pretty useless in the cold.
Who actually wrote this article? Ford or the Biden people?
