Notify your carrier and the local District Attorney’s office.....................
Never.
You never can beat a crook at his own game.
Good 4U. STAY ALERT!
That was me. I need $20.
I’ve taken calls from some of these scammers before. Amazing how fast they hang up when you ask them to say your name. I use to register with the ‘Do Not Call’ website. That only increased the calls. It’s obvious the bad guys were using it as a source of numbers to call.
You can get a burner text app and text them back and say something like ‘this is the fbi, can I help you?’
It really bothers me is that no one is warning people about scams like these. The government should do something useful for a change, and run occasional public service ads. At least try to give everyone a heads-up.
As it is now, many folks (and especially senior citizens) just don’t know anything about these scams. And so they fall for them.
Delete it.
I need you to buy my daughter a iTunes card for hr birthday.
I’m out of town, buy it and send me a picture of the pin.
Please buy $500 I’ll pay you back next Tuesday.
That’s scary.
If you respond they may be able to hijack your phone number.
If they have that, they can reset the passwords to all your accounts, including your bank accounts.
Don’t be a Red Snapper. Ignore that dangling bait with lure.
I recently got a new phone and transferred my number from my old phone to my new phone. Suddenly the number of spam calls I receive went way down. Why would this happen? I’m still using the same number. I’m concerned that anyone I did not put on my contact list may now be gettng blocked. Its just weird to me.
“Interpol office. This call is being recorded. Can I help you?”
Phone text scams are the latest new frontier for criminals. Do not fall for any text that provides a link for you to click on. They are all scams.
I get a lot of scams about stimulus checks. For a while it was texts claiming to be Amazon delivering something. No matter what the text says it is an attempt to get your personal information.
Do not ever click on any link.
This is a huge missed opportunity for Republicans. The Democrats and globalist Repubs are hell-bent on demoralizing and abusing the American people.
This is a populist issue that crosses ideological boundaries. We, the American people are being overwhelmingly abused by scammers, hackers, and identity thieves, and what has our government done about it??? NOTHING. It seems like they actively encourage it. Probably because anti-identity thief corporations are lobbying / bribing them to NOT fix the problem. It’s all about the money to these sick satan worshipping globalists. Money is their god.
Point being, a populist like Trump needs to grab this issue, run with it, demand / create a national task force to tackle these scammer / hacking / identity thief problems that Americans are facing. Send in the special forces to track down and take out foreign hackers? This stuff will end really quick when navy seals start showing up. Like when Jefferson dealt with barbary pirates.
This issue resonates with 90% of Americans, doesn’t matter what their politics are. Great way to build support through populism and improve the lives of Americans.
Why is no one addressing this issue? Rand where are you? Trump, why are you not take on this issue? DeSantis take note!
How old are you? I’m guessing pretty old
They want you to text them, but don’t say why? Screw ‘em. They’re crooks.
Scammers (I assume) are also leaving voicemail messages requesting that you call them back, but they don’t identify themselves. Those messages sound as if the first few words have been cut off, and no subject is mentioned. Several times a week is typical.
I don't! None of my friends - who know how very much I prize explicit, detailed descriptions - would ever write only "Text me!"
By the same token, I wouldn't be friends with anyone who would think that "Text me!" is a sufficient message.
Regards,
