Amazon has been hiring hundreds of thousands of workers for roles in its warehouses, which it calls fulfillment centers, but those employees have been quitting almost as fast as they can be hired, according to a huge report from The New York Times published on Tuesday.
Many of the over 350,000 workers Amazon hired from July to October stayed with the company "just days or weeks," the report said.

Don’t forget that Amazon contracts with many small businesses to sell their mom and pop items.
I’m not ignoring the fact that Amazon and Bezos are evil. But fundamental economic rules apply.
I started that after 1/6. Actually it was pretty easy to find product online outside Amazon.
For example, I ordered a Eureka Copper Tent from LL Bean and I am receiving it later this week. Who knew you could order a camping tent from LL Bean!
That is what my family has done.
Deleted our account back in December.
Plenty of other online places to buy from as well as local stores. Just a little more effort surching for stuff.
It aint just at Amazon,it is very prevalent just about everywhere and here in SoCal it is commonly referred to as Millennialitis
Yes. Metropolis.
It’ll happen if your lazy compatriots don’t get off of their butts.
They’re building these regardless....
I dont get why they dont force standardize packaging on the suppliers, so they can just automate everything.
I think you might have just proved Lenin correct.

UPS delivers their shit on teamsters union wages + turns a profit. Go figure. Something doesn’t add up.
You are a typical Conservative GOPer. To you Americans are lazy and stupid. There are jobs Americans won’t do. That’s a great away to build a majority party. F off.
I know, I have no idea why they don’t. Too cheap is my guess?
Great film well ahead of its time.
Walmart online shopping may eat Bezos’ lunch.
In 2008, at the depth of the Great Recession, I became one of the first employees of Amazon Fresh, which was (still is?) their home delivery grocery store.
I actually would have kept the job (third shift warehouse puller - three nights, 24 hours a week) but they broke their promise to make me an Amazon employee with full benefits and a pay raise to $18/hour, after I worked six months as a temp contract employee.
My boss, who was an excellent manager, also quit. He took their option to get most of his pay in Amazon stock, which was going no where but DOWN in 2008.
I bet he is still kicking himself for that decision. Amazon stock exploded to the upside - 35X - from 2010 to 2021!
I would have grabbed the stock pay option, too, if they had converted me to an Amazon employee in 2008.
Ah - what MIGHT have been!
And you are somebody who cannot face the reality that your country is gone and will never come back.
You know it too, and that’s why you have a childish tantrum on the thread.
The country is only dead in your head. Use it for once.
“Nobody wants to WORK anymore.”
Amazon works their employees to death.
It’s not about your individual work ethic at Amazon.. What happens is if you’re a major producer they increase your quota/metrics accordingly and demand that you produce even more. And if you hit a plateau of maximum production then they’ll fire you for not increasing production at a steady rate.
The ironic thing is that you’re better off starting out as a slack ass who can show steady improvement over a period of time.
Maybe they should consider a strategy of retention - you know, more money, better working conditions, promotion opportunities - all those things that make people stay with an employer.
