The donkey went and destroyed the crops in an adjacent farmer's land. Infuriated, the farmer's wife shot the donkey and killed it.
The donkey's owner was devastated at the loss. In reply, he shot dead the farmer's wife.
Angered by his wife's death, the farmer took a sickle and killed the donkey's owner.
The wife of the donkey's owner got so angry that she and her sons set the farmer's house on fire.
The farmer, looking at his house turned into ashes, killed the wife and children of the donkey's owner.
Finally, when the farmer was full of regret, he asked the ghost why did he kill them all?
The ghost replied, "I killed nobody. I just released a donkey tied to a tree. It is all of you who released the devils within you which resulted in everything bad that occurred thereafter."
Today's media is like that ghost. It keeps releasing donkeys daily. And people react and argue with each other, hurt each other, without having a second thought. In the end, the media dodges all responsibilities.
So, it's our responsibility to not react to every donkey released by the media and preserve our relationship with our friends, relatives, and community.
However, I found several old document files that seemed beneficial in today’s world and pondered whether to share on Face Book or Free Republic. I have no notion of the source. This is one of three or four.
I’m posting this in News/Activism because it has a News section and since this about media News was as close as I could get.
You're welcome.
Bad analogy. The news media is not merely an impartial provocateur, they are on the side of of one of the farmers, and that farmer is the only one committing the violence.
These days all the media has to do is tell the Donkey’s owner’s other neighbor that someone did something bad enough to make them unhappy and that neighbor may riot and loot both the other farms as well as burn their own chicken coop.
Academic basically says prosecuting rapists in England is white supremacy.
It links to a referenced story in the Telegraph but you’ve got to log in to read it.
The CIA has directed our MSM since the 50’s if not earlier. It’s weaponized communications and is used to divide us by race, socioeconomics, religion etc.
The DEEP STATE fears what a united people will do so it uses it’s propaganda wings to create divisions where there are none.
OMG, is that ever the truth!
Heh, I was about halfway into it before I began to suspect it wasn’t joke!
Point taken about not lopping each other’s heads off on the basis of media articles meant to incite us into lopping each other’s heads off...:)
Noooooooo! Good God, I’ll have nightmares now she is chasing me with a scythe!!!!!
The analogy is at least partially wrong. The media is often just reporting donkeys being let loose by their owners and not some ghost or reporter.
Failing the ghost as the culprit it could sound like a version of turn the other cheek that you are advocating.
I agree that the media has too much sway over us and that the internet has made a provocateur of anyone who wants to blog but there are some real offenses going on that need to be stopped with prejudice. The actors have far over stepped their rights and boundaries.
Turning the other cheek 7 times seventy is still a limitation. We have reached that limit. Forgiveness and tolerance is not infinite. I’ve had enough of both for this one lifetime and would join the farmer in wiping out the willful donkey owners. All others whose donkeys have been released by mischievous ghosts may pass but only this once and the owners need to keep a better eye on their donkeys if they want to keep them.
A policeman was dispatched to the scene of a domestic disturbance.
When he got there he radioed back that an elderly woman had shot her husband for walking on her freshly mopped kitchen floor.
“Do you have her in custody?”
“No, the floor is still wet.”
Seems to me the ghost was responsible for all those deaths. I hope they give him the death penalty.
Moral of the story:
Watch your ass!
That’s why you never give a mouse a cookie. They’ll frame the donkey.
The media is an Ass.
It’s like shaking the jar of ants.
It’s not a bad analogy.
It illustrates how wedge issues work.
So many relationships are being obliterated as we type over disagreements about workplace COVID risk, masks, effectiveness of the jab, safety of the jab, jabbing one’s own children, mandating the jab, etc. These relationships often as not are between siblings, between adult children and their parents, between husband and wife, between fellow Republicans, between fellow conservatives.
The drive-by media has a whole new menu of wedge issues to choose from. Is this not a significant and dread-inducing new development that disembowels or renders worthless our right to freedom of assembly? For Pete’ sake—so many people no longer feel comfortable coming close to anyone. Someone they’ve just met and would ordinarily at least shake hands with? They treat them like a vampire treats holy water!
Everyone who previously generally agreed with each other is seemingly now at everyone’s throats. Or they predictably would be if they ever managed to physically gather together again in one stinkin’ place.
The spiritual damage to society is incalculable. The worst part is, it never needed to happen. Sick people, people with fevers, needed to stay home (with their HCQ, Ivermectin, antibiotics, zinc, vitamins D and C, tamiflu (in case it was the flu after all), whatever, to help them stay out of the hospital killing fields), and remain isolated. The rest of us needed to carry on as usual but were forced to do otherwise. The preposterous notion of quarantining the healthy was another huge wedge issue!
When I first ran into this story, I figured it was about Big Tech/Anti-Social Media myself!
