Easy explanation..the “masks” being worn were probably cloth masks. Maybe bandanas, a T-shirt pulled over one’s nose, etc. More likely, whatever people were trying to wear left their nose exposed..maybe their mouth. I’ve seen it so many times just walking around. Basically, America SUCKED at trying to do masks and it was a joke from day one.
If you have a community where only 50% of the people even come CLOSE to wearing “decent” (surgical and/or KN95/N95) masks, you can’t them come back and say “but, we had a lot of infections, so ‘Masks Don’t Work!’). Instead, the OBVIOUS answer is..masks DO work (just go look at Taiwan, S. Korea, New Zealand, Hong Kong, ...) but the community in question just sucks at using them properly or, even more likely, just uses the wrong kind of masks.
The evidence is plentiful and irrefutable. Go look at virtually ANY Asian country who knows how to use masks and the type of mask to use. How many COVID infections/million and deaths per million did THEY have compared to the US?
Yeah..because “masks don’t work”. WRONG! They DO work when worn consistently (90+% of population), properly (no exposed noses or God help us, mouths) and are the RIGHT type (surgical or KN95/N95) of mask.
And don’t try to explain it away by suggesting vitamin intake differences, etc. That’s just plain ridiculous.
That’s what was said by some doctors here in Alberta, then they were promptly shut down.
They said something to the effect of particles are being inhaled coming off the masks and accumulating in the lungs.
That aside, there’s no reason to wear one regardless, it doesn’t do anything except have negative consequences.
What a dumb thing to say. I’m not some millennial pu—y like I’m assuming you are. You’re completely missing the point, which was simply that it was everyone’s decision to make. I honestly couldn’t care less if you or anyone else decided to inject foreign substances into your body.
If you harm yourself or kill yourself, it’s all you. As it should be. That’s why I referred to it as “medical Darwinism.”
It was your decision to make, and you own the consequences.

It’s quite a leap to say that I’ll die of covid if I’m not vaccinated. Laughable in fact.
So I took the moderna recipe. I've read extensively about the pros and cons of "holding" or "folding". And after subjecting my brain to explanations of ACE1, ACE2, ADE, ARB, down to T-cytotoxic and so on; I came to the conclusion I had no business making recommendations to anyone--but me. Hope you and sis are playing the best odds for yourselves.

Zero chance the virus spread if RCMP and Walmart were both wearing N95s, 100% of the time.
ZERO. Scientifically impossible.
Although I do find it unlikely that this indeed happened as you seem to think as it’s not a common scenario.
So, more likely - not EVERYONE was wearing N95s, 100% of the time. Or they made basic errors in their use (touching the mask and then touching their nose, mouth, etc).
It’s already been done, I’ll dig for those reports tomorrow.
These vaccine threads should automatically generate the picture of the guy saying, not this **** again.
On the other hand there are some good comebacks on both sides.

Even in the army at Mopp 4 that would’t stop a virus. I’m sorry to say, but you’re not a very bright person.
Look at a drywaller wearing one, and how much dust gets in, and those particles are extremely larger than the virus. Or better yet, go hide behind a three strand electric fence and I’ll shoot at you with a .22 and see if you get hit. By your logic, you’re perfectly safe.
