The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are based on "messenger" RNA. The RNA is encapsulated in a lipid layer consisting of propylene glycol (a petrochemical).
This is the biological definition of a virus. (In this case a synthetic virus.)

Viral genomes act to enable a virus to multiply and replicate itself. The mRNA vaccines do neither, since they only code for one protein, and do not multiply or replicate!! Therefore, they are NOT viruses!!!!
All the mRNA vaccines do is enter cells (especially dendritic cells of the immune system) and enable the production of a spike protein derivative, which serves as an antigen. The result is the induction of immune cells and antibodies that are specific for the covid spike protein. That is exactly what a vaccine does!!!!
The Novavax covid vaccine, which is a more conventional vaccine, could be coming soon:

And the FDA could also formally approve the PfizerBioNTech and Moderna mRNA vaccines soon.
