The purpose of the Oversight Board is to promote free expression by making principled, independent decisions regarding content.
The Board will review a select number of highly emblematic cases.
Each case will be reviewed by a panel of board members, with at least one member from the region.
Whereas membership of the entire board will be public, the composition of individual panels may remain anonymous

Point of contention - these people only control speech on Facebook.
A big platform to be sure but just a fallible company nonetheless.
The internet is designed to end run around this garbage.
Make new social media platforms - even better - get outside and meet up in person with friends and family and leave the virtual world altogether.

Have no doubt that they eventually nearly all search engines and social media platforms will have to have the Oversight stamp of approval

Simply being ON this board makes one an authoritarian terrorist. If a similar board existed and claimed to adjudicate the claims of a cartel in Mexico, everyone knows what would happen.
I sure wouldn’t be a member of a board that claimed the power to decide what free people may, or may not say. I couldn’t stand to live my life, always looking behind me when pumping gas, or being afraid when I see those guys on dirt bikes in traffic.
But whatever.
