Once a month Google tells me of all the places I've been in the last 30 days. OK, we all know that our smartphones track us and they know what cities and places we go to. And we know there are (probably) ways to disable this tracking. But most of us don't really care. And even if we did, there are many other ways Google, Alexa, our cars, our government, etc. track us and follow our every movement.
This is just everyday life in the 21st century.
So anyway, Google's My Timeline has an in-depth review of nearly every place and every town I've been in in the last 10 years.
But they got one thing wrong. I know I've not been to Laredo Texas since 1986 when I worked for a Laredo based company at that time.
Yet My Timeline says I was at Monarch Tracking, a GPS supplier at 602 E. Carlton Road in Laredo 6 years ago.
Maybe Aliens under orders from our Navy and Air Force secretly transported me there one time for a chip implant.
Who knows?
you ever seen the movie Fight Club?
Your old Compaq Deskpro 286-12 is still in use and fitted with a 10 Base-T, and they never took you out of its system.
Where does one go to see these data?
Rule # 1:
Rule #2:
Just to let you know they’re watching.
“I’ll be watching you. Ever place you go. Every breath you take.”
Chocolate rations go up 25 grams next week.
Double-plus good, eh?
Laredo has a server that is spoofing you. Your not there, but if they don’t know where you are and they get aa ping from a server that you have been routed through, that server will be your location.
All the better to frame you for the hit Frankie Five Fingers did.
You were sleep driving.
I think your answer's right there. They probably manufactured or sold some GPS-enabled device that you now own. Since google has now linked that device to YOU, they mistakenly think that it has always been linked to you, even when it was sitting in a warehouse in Laredo, TX before you purchased it.
Google Maps Timeline.
On your smartphone.
My NOOK tracks me with that Google GPS location thing; any ideas on how to delete where I’ve been?
Yeah? But the fact it goes to a GPS tracking company? That is no coincidence.
““I’ll be watching you. Ever place you go. Every breath you take.”
There’s a stalker song.
I carry a phone as little as possible and use a Garman GPS rather than the phone’s GPS.
By the way, I have a gps app for my android tablet that has the road map downloaded in, plus the android has a gps receiver, so it will show follow me on its relatively big map without any transmissions to big brother.
People bug the hell out of me, too. Eff 'em, I sez.
You were sleep driving.
