I just dont understand why finding out details and facts behind the evolution of the january 6 protest that spilled into the federal buildings is getting shot down by the republicans. Trump was cleared of being connected to any of that.
Ummm...because they’re not interested in the truth. They’re only interested in smearing Donald Trump and the 99.9999% of his million plus supporters who did absolutely nothing wrong.

Because it will be weaponized to make us look like a threat to this nation. Were it a true effort to look into it honestly, it might be worthwhile, because it was not an attempted insurrection. In other words, the truth about who was really behind what happened might actually be exposed.
Because your premise if flawed.
The purpose of the commission isn’t to elicit facts.
The purpose is to put an “official” seal of approval on a pre-ordained report that says “Trump is bad and can’t run for President ever again.”
The “Trump is a Russian asset” story fell apart on them.
The “Covid is a naturally occurring virus and the deaths are Trump’s fault” story is falling apart on them.
The “Biden won the election” story is going to fall apart on them.
They need something, anything, to try to discredit Trump before the 2024 election. This is the sole purpose of the commission and of the New York investigations.
It would give the Democrats a platform to bash Trump nonstop and get the media coverage wall-to-wall. And the bashing would not be fact checked in any responsible way. It would be an orgy of hate. The Democrats are terrified he will run again and will stop at nothing to block him.
Because it will be a DemonRat, Soviet style, show trial with a predetermined result which has no association with facts or the actual event.
Because it is run by the party that led the coup. The one that stole the election of the President and other offices. It is led by Nancy Pelosi and her cronies who ordered the only murder that took place that day against Ashli Babbitt. It would not look into or prosecute antifa or blm that was behind the fake attack on the Capitol and would not look at the phone records and text messages and other electronic communications that were withheld by Pelosi from that day. It wouldn’t look into why Pelosi denied the request by the captain of the Capitol Police or the national guard that was requested by Trump. It wouldn’t look into why this happened while Trump was still speaking, a half hour longer than planned. In other words, it is just another fake witch hunt by the commies that took over this country. They don’t want us to wake up and see what happened.
How about we “investigate” Hunter Biden laptop or Joe Biden’t quid pro quo to fire the Ukrainian prosecutor or the states that stopped counting ballots in the middle of the night with Trump ahead by hundreds of thousands and came back online with Biden suddenly ahead?
Why aren’t you clamoring for those investigations?
Why do you only want to investigate the people Democrats hate?

Did you know the feds are investigating anyone who was in DC that day, not just those involved in the Capitol? No warrant either.
By using the word “insurrection” you are revealing your alliance with the traitor Dems.

Why should we “investigate” January 6th while ignoring everything that happened over the summer? Why do only right wing incidents warrant “investigation”? Why should we facilitate more campaign propaganda for the 2022 midterm?
If people want to investigate politically motivated violence then fine. If, however, they only want to investigate right wing politically motivated violence then they can go jump in a lake.
Why should we trust ANY “investigation” of this sort after what Mueller did? In that case he investigated the claims made against the Trump campaign but completely ignored the origin and veracity of those claims. We sucked on that turd for three years. How long would you have us suck on this one?
I agree with you. I think it 1/6 commission is extremely necessary.
For several reasons. We need to find out just exactly who murdered Ashley Babbitt. We need to find out to what extent was Antifa and the FBI involved in this staged Insurrection. We need to find out how many political prisoners are still being held in jail as a result of simply being at the capital that day.
There are a lot of unanswered questions that need immediate answers.
Because the goal is to prove a narrative, via fishing expeditions and word-thinking.
The very term “insurrection” sets the framing: that it was a planned attempt to literally overthrow the government, which it wasn’t.
It’s a kangaroo court. The “defense” will be suppressed however possible; the goal is to - again - indict Trump.
The kangaroo court attitude of the dims and lynch mob media makes that impossible.
Because it enshrines the lie that it was an “insurrection“, it ignores the BLM communist mass murder riots of the last year. And it will be as dishonest as the Trump impeachment hearings, the Russia piss dossier hearings and the coronavirus investigations.
It will not address the stolen election.
It will not address the hundreds of political prisoners still locked up after DC.
It will be a completely one-sided star chamber designed to enshrine the Democrat narrative.
It will be a show trial. Think of the Russia investigation. There was absolutely no evidence and they stretched that into a two year hate-Trump orgy.
Of course it’s a bad idea. Who do you think would be on that committee?
