I just dont understand why finding out details and facts behind the evolution of the january 6 protest that spilled into the federal buildings is getting shot down by the republicans. Trump was cleared of being connected to any of that.

Two reasons
First, the purpose of this investigation would be to keep Jan 6 in the public eye continually rehashing democratic talking points. Think of it as a very long running commercial for democrats.
Second, it’s not necessarily a given that the truth will be told. Think of all the investigations conducted by the democrats while Trump was in office. Did any of them produce the truth?

The people were invited to come in ... the dims army did street theater to give the perception that the capital was invaded ... If you were expecting an honest assessment of what really happened, you’d be correct in supporting such a commission. BUT the donkeys would make the rules and issue the subpoenas, and the MSM would control the flow of information, so it would just turn into a blame fest on the MAGA crowd, and serve as a nightly distraction from the hash that the regime is making of our economy and our culture.
