Too bad; we loved cruising.

I plan to stand on the bow with my styrofoam harpoon yelling,

“Thar she blows! Come on, Ishmael! Get away from that buffet and start rowing!”

I was going to highlight the vaccine requirement, but figured the Freepers who would be interested in an Alaskan trip would pick that up by actually reading the article. -Tom

It’s a start. I see Victoria, BC is not on the itinerary. Too bad. Seattle would not have been my choice as the anchor city.

We’ll see if they survive a long wait for tourists to return. We’ll keep our reservation for next June on the Ruby for now.

Butchart Gardens and the butterflies and bears of Vancouver Island await our arrivals.

Personally, I wouldn't cruise Alaska unless it were one-way with a land portion connected to it.

A 3-5 day land tour at Princess Lodges with a train ride to Whittier for a one-way cruise south would be the perfect way to do it. Get the land portion done first and then relax for the cruise portion.

I will be booking a cruise every month after our already booked September cruise takes place and we find it was as good as all our previous 36 cruises.

Capt. Tom, I had the 2nd shot of vaccine 10 weeks ago. It was a piece of cake. And I am age 81. My spouse had the vaccine at the same time and she is stage-4 cancer fighter for 3+ years, and she had no problems with the vaccine.

Now we can cruise to our heart’s content. Just do it!

Bon voyage.

I’d be a little upset about probably never cruising again, except that my whole life has been so full, so interesting, and so exciting, that I’m good not cruising again. Plenty to do at home in my old age.

That sucks. I hate the short stays, 4 hours and at night would never do for me,,, Victoria should be an 12-hour stop in my opinion.

Docking on a day when all the businesses and stuff is open helps too.. We hit there on a Sunday a couple visits ago, it was boring. not much open.

Its Canada...the point is we cant go to Canada ...thats why Congress is trying to change the law which requires ships to call in at a foreign port if the leave and come back to a US port...that day would be better spent visiting another Alaskan port like Sitka...

Hopefully Canada will get opened up soon as well..
