Wait a minute. Don’t butch lesbians wear mullets, with their heads shave along the sides?

Aren’t mullets were still a fixture at NASCAR?

The Internet killed the mullet because once people could see how ridiculous they looked, it was all over.
While the Mulletsgalore.com site is no longer posting pictures and stories of mulletude, the "Fear The Mullet" t-shirts and other items are still available:

One in four men instead tried cutting their hair After 6 weeks of lock down last spring I decided to buy a cordless electric hair cutter and cut my own.
It didn't work out as planned....... That's where the phrase "don't try this at home" came from.

I sported a mullet early 1980’s. They look good as long as they are not too long.

I had the same problem. Then I discovered mullet wigs. Now I am fashionable once again!

During the shutdowns and social distancing measures of the COVID-19 pandemic, 75 percent of men chose to forgo professional hair maintenance. This is a promising sign. It means only one-quarter of guys placed their hair over securing food supplies and ordnance, keeping a job, dealing with statists, riots, etc. during the pandemic.
I don't know of ANY guys who said "ya know....amidst people dying or Cuomo being a jackwad and Mail-in ballots stealing the election and scams and lockdowns and the vaporization of the service sector and unemployment and all that, I don't know if I want to simply go blonde or get a full mullet."
All that said, getting that first haircut after the lockdowns was fruitful, insofar as the barber was full of in-town info and intelligence not to be found anywhere. It was less like hair care and more like a meeting with Deep Throat.

Comeback? They never went out of style! ;-)
It's not the haircut - I wish my energy, body, optimism, etc. from that era would make a comeback. I keep my hair short now because it is easy to take care of. Wash and dry without a fuss. I don't even own a comb or a brush. Hiking hat, motorcycle helmet - no worries, my hair pretty much always looks the same.

I walked by the TV the other night as some 16 year old boy was singing. I forget what TV show it was. My wife watches it.
Anyway, this kid was sporting an awesome mullet. I laughed. This was the style before he was even born.
My silver hair is 6 inches long in the back and over the ears. I could easily do a mullet.
Imagine. A 63 year old guy with a mullet. I might try it.
Wouldn’t be any more goofy than a mullet on a young man.
