U.S. Navy seizes cache of weapons aboard ship in Arabian Sea likely bound for Yemen

The U.S. Navy announced Sunday that it seized an arms shipment of thousands of assault weapons, machines guns and sniper rifles hidden aboard a ship in the Arabian Sea, apparently bound for Yemen to support the country's Houthi rebels.
An American defense official told The Associated Press that the Navy's initial investigation found the vessel came from Iran, again tying the Islamic Republic to arming the Houthis despite a United Nations arms embargo.

I had the same thought. The Hothis are Iranian proxies who have been targeting Saudi Arabian oil facilities and, since the US has switched sides, we are favoring Iran over SA.

I believe its arms embargo international agreements under the UN and probably a US law on sanctions against Iran. As much as we all despise the UN, it does provide some cover for US actions against bad actor nations on the high seas.
