Years ago one of my uncles worked on a project that sterilized mosquitoes and released them into the wild producing no offspring. I suppose the mama mosquitoes were quite frustrated. :D

Oxitec's modified mosquitoes, all male, Are they manually checking every one of them? Mutations and other weird stuff happen in nature. No reason it couldn't happen here. If something did happen and we end up with a new type of mosquito that's worse then the one they were trying to get rid of, then what? More GMO mosquitos to fight the first ones?
