I remember her from General Hospital back in the days when I was stupid enough to watch soaps. She was a hoot! RIP Witchipoo......

Only 17 shows back in 1969 but HR Puffnstuf literally changed the world and jettisoned us into the Age of Aquarius.

H.R. Puffenstuff was a staple in my childhood, as was Captain Kangaroo. RIP Witchiepoo

When I was a kid in the 60’s - 70’s the Saturday morning cartoons ruled. RIP Billie - you done all right.

PufNStuf and the related Lidsville were among my favorite TV shows when I was 4 or 5. They were weirdly fascinating to me at that age.

I swear, THIS scene with Witchie Poo is where "MAKEUP!!" became part of our cultural lexicon. RIP.

Wow, it's been a good fifty years since I saw that scene yet I still remember it!

I was a 7 year old eating a bologna sandwich while watching, I'm pretty sure. My mother was big on bologna sandwiches back then. On Wonder Bread.

It's a classic scene - unforgettable as you proved - but I don't know if people give this scene the credit it's due. My friends and I used to smash each other in the face with pillows yelling MAKEUP. Bonus points if you could load the pillow with baby powder.

Bleached white bread and bologna...ahh, the stuff of legends, from when we didn't have gluten allergies or nitrate fears or tofu substitutes.

It's all because we allowed the impurification of our precious bodily fluids.
