WTF is #5?
Had the KFC a while back. Mehhh. Could be better. Haven’t tried Popeyes yet. Had McDonald’s and Burger King and Wendy’s. All about the same. Any suggestions.
I like the Wendy’s grilled chicken sandwich, but not the breaded version.
My favorite chicken recipe is to take 2-4 chicken leg quarters, season them with spices of your choice, and put them in a cast iron skillet, skin side down, for 17 minutes on medium heat.
Then flip the chicken over and place the cast iron skillet in a 450 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Just 32 minutes to perfection with minimal prep.
The chicken will fall right off the bone every time.
[Disclosure: I still think the Chick-fil-A sandwich is better...but haven't eaten there since they went Woke.]
Popeye’s is the best that I have had.
Isn’t EVERY meat sandwich at Subway (except the tuna) a CHICKEN sandwich?
So many options.
McDonald’s is the worst. But KFC isn’t far ahead of McDonalds.
In my area, Wendy’s and then Popeye’s is the best I can get.
Of course, I had a healthy alternative to choose from. I chose the Ruben over a Liverwurst sandwich on rye, with fried onions, a slice of a ripe tomato and a good German mustard. That will be lunch tomorrow.
Nothing, other than home cooked, will EVER beat Zaxby’s IMO ever! Only fast food chicken place I go to, and normally they only drop it into the fryer once it’s order (very busy times they keep some on hand). It’s not greasy, light or heavily spiced, and just so so so yummy. One of the few you can get excellent fried okra too....
The Habit, a West Coast chain, makes a great fried chicken sandwich.
I had a BK chicken sandwich the other day. It sucked.
Anyone remember KFC's "Double Down" sandwich?
If its the same author that did the recent fish article then Ill assume hes just as wrong.
Chik-Fil-A is the best. Always prepared with fresh ingredients. With waffle fries and Lemon shake, makes a great lunch.
A lot depends on how busy they are. If they are busy chances are you are going to get them fresh, otherwise they start losing their best taste.

About 10 years ago I suddenly became allergic to wheat products. I’m not sure if it’s the gluten or the chemicals in processed food but I stopped eating it completely.
Some breads I have attempted to eat since then have had less effect. I seem to be able to tolerate pizza (thank god!!!) And some high-quality rye breads.
But I went to a Chick-fil-A because I had to try it, And within an hour I was itching all over.
The sight of all that breading in these pictures makes me nauseous.
By the way I lost a lot of weight since stopping eating bread, and I am no longer hungry all day long like I used to be. Fresh meat and vegetables and fruit, like God intended. It’s not more expensive because one standard size strip steak I can cut into thirds. I also raise my own chickens so the fresh eggs are incredible.
