Anyone remember KFC's "Double Down" sandwich?

It has been two years since customers were first introduced to the Popeyes chicken sandwich. Since then, every other major chain in America has been scrambling to release its own version of the popular menu item—to varying degrees of success. To be clear, most fast food joints have been offering chicken-based sandwiches for decades, but many have stepped up their game since 2019 by focusing on four basic components: thick and juicy breaded chicken breast, pickles, mayo and/or spicy sauce, and a pillowy brioche bun. Judging on those attributes, The Takeout has reviewed the major players’ new chicken sandwiches one by one. Here are the rankings so far.

stopped eating KFC 15 years ago after gettin a $6 chiken pot pie that had NO chiken!

Wendy’s used to serve breakfast back in the 80s and they had a sausage/bacon biscuit that was to die for.
Then they discontinued breakfast for a lot of years. < |:\~

Nothing, other than home cooked, will EVER beat Zaxby’s IMO ever! Only fast food chicken place I go to, and normally they only drop it into the fryer once it’s order (very busy times they keep some on hand). It’s not greasy, light or heavily spiced, and just so so so yummy. One of the few you can get excellent fried okra too....
The Habit, a West Coast chain, makes a great fried chicken sandwich.
Lol. They aren’t bad. But they pump those things out. Like the McDonald’s. Wendy’s is ok. BK was ok. Just haven’t had one that I would drive to get again. Was pissed at KFC, my wife ordered from there and didn’t check the bag. Was supposed to be 2 spicy chicken sandwiches in there and was not there. Called and they said come back the next day and they gave me 3 for free. Was not bad but were not spicy. Just regular. I like getting KFC but expensive because I get a big family bucket but with only breasts, extra crispy.. Sides are ok after you salt them.
I had a BK chicken sandwich the other day. It sucked.
Popeye’s is a darn good chicken sandwich. McDonald’s, Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, Wendy’s and KFC are not even in the same league.
Seriously, Popeye’s spicy is a good sandwich. I can understand why lesser intellect and emotionally petulant individuals would fight over them.
That said I can’t believe I just gave testimony for a fast food joint.

Chik-Fil-A is the best. Always prepared with fresh ingredients. With waffle fries and Lemon shake, makes a great lunch.
Had the Zaxbys spicy chicken sandwich a couple of times. It’s good for fast food. The I e time I had the Popeyes sandwich it had the texture of rubber. Not going to have the Popeyes again.
A lot depends on how busy they are. If they are busy chances are you are going to get them fresh, otherwise they start losing their best taste.

Concurring bump...their fish sandwich is also the bomb.
