“During the freeze, they supplied eggs, gave away firewood and one of those individuals learned that our car was out of gas, so a five-gallon can of gas arrives at our house from one of those people - so they're learning, positive things,” says Brian Johnson, Retired Army dad.
When the winter storm was over, their father decided the girls could learn a little more about being responsible and saving money...
And so the girls would make $69 a week on the eggs they sold to neighbors, that is until someone complained and the girls received a letter. A letter that stated they were ordered to obey and cease.

Eggs weren't available in stores for up to two weeks after the freeze. Good on those girls.
What a commie notion that kids can't sell eggs, lemonade or muffins.
I’m not much for public shaming, but this is a good case for it. Identify and shame the complainant, as the vile, bitter scum they are.
Were customers charged with contributing to the capitalism of a minor?
Bureaucrats are scum. In Los Angeles bureaucrats drive around on weekends and hit up yard sales for their 10%.
Texas Ping.
Death to the Kulaks!
That sounds like a shakedown.
Hope they find out who the whiney neighbor was so that the kids can donate some eggs to their windows.
We learned that lesson years ago with a lemonade stand. The boys couldn’t “sell” lemonade, but they could give it away and ask for a donation to the “XXXX and XXXX PS4 Ownership Fund.”
They raised more than enough “donations” to purchase the PS4 and a couple of games.
People are so cranky. I’ll take fresh eggs from local backyard hens over a commercially raised hens any day.
Kids will always be much smarter than the govt.
Sounds like a liberal who wanted them for free, and when the girls said no they turned them in so that no one could have any. That is what they do. If they can’t have it they burn it down so that no one can have it.
Yep...
Zoning is how local elites exert their power.
Learn them at an early age how to operate in our new glorious totalitarian society.
The mafia had a method of dealing with rats. I highly recommend that before this problem gets out of hand and we paid government informants in every neighborhood observing and reporting our every move.
When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed.
Ayn Rand
Don’t they mean undocumented eggs?
That’s a great line. +1
